At least two thirds of the new #geocache containers in Finland today are PET-plastic bottle preform tubes with standard size plastic lid caps (approx. 6000 p.a.)
.. but naturally this new improvement doesn't work against squirrels and other sharp-toothed rodents 🐿 🐀

It's great to see #MarksandSparks leading on this.In the US, the #AholdDelhaize subsidiaries #StopAndShop and #Hannaford seem to delight in plastic packaging. I can't even buy loose lemons, they come complete with a plastic mesh bag.
I wonder why M&S aka #MarksAndSpencer can get rid of plastic, and a supermarket behemoth like Ahold Delhaize can't.

@primonatura I think it is great that #Unilever are doing well with #SDG13. I am deeply concerned about their stance on #SDG16 however. #Biofuel is #greenwashing. In North America, ethanol added to gasoline is made from purpose-grown corn. There's some #biodiesel made from used cooking oil or something, but I don't think that's a very large part of our market. #DecarbonizeNow -

@Urban_Hermit @primonatura I’m 70+—we had no #PlasticPackaging in the 50s and no #AluminumCans until Coors started shipping them all over the West in the 60s. Everything wet came in glass, wax cartons, or #SteelCans. Dry food was in paper, paperboard, or #WaxedPaper. #Glass is the best package for beverages and most canned foods, especially #DepositBottles that go back to local bottlers to be washed and reused. Waxed paper worked well, even for potato chips. #BottleBill

This is disappointing, because it still allows fireworks displays by professionals. Fireworks and bonfires are unnecessary sources of air pollution and we should move on from this practice. #StopBurningStuff
