This piece by Ernesto van Peborgh is more or less where I am at on all this - #RegenerativeAnthropology and all. One particular point I liked: he uses the term #Metacrisis instead of #polycrisis, to capture that it’s all one big crisis. I agree, it’s better. Will use it too from now on
(And yes, it’s on Substack. I didn’t put it there. I am aware Substack is part of the problem. Feel free to just not open it).

#AcademicVenting 🧵#Redundancy But by yesterday afternoon I somehow turned a corner; I am beginning to work out strategies for being an environmental anthropologist in my own right, even without institutional backing. I may have a new book contract; a small consultancy for the RSPB; and some teaching for the wonderful New School of the Anthropocene. No huge earners but all really helping psychologically right now. Here’s to #RegenerativeAnthropology!

My #FollowFriday list for this week has an emphasis on #EarthDefenders, #ClimateJustice and #ClimateNews! I've included descriptions from respective accounts. Suggestions welcome for the next round...!

"The Earth First! Journal is the voice of the radical environmental movement. Published quarterly, it contains reports on direct action; articles on the preservation of wilderness and biological diversity; news and announcements about #EarthFirst! and other radical environmental groups. Follow for updates about the EF! Journal, snarky ecoposting, and updates on the struggle to minimize and adapt to climate catastrophe." -
#ClimateDiary Anthropology students and my wonderful colleague Ricardo set up an #UrbanForaging club at #Goldsmiths. Today they did a stall with delicious #Elderflower champagne, Quince jelly, #Mahonia Jam, pickled wild garlic buds and #dandelion capers - all foraged in #London. Really wonderful, especially as it’s been a week of big setbacks for me with two #ClimateAction projects i’ve been trying at work. We will keep trying!
