Waiting for UK to evict Palantir, golden child of Peter Thiel's fascistic, deluded mind?
Don't hold your breath. Britain has been a client state of the US since ww2.
Thiel, et al. paid for Trump's 2024 win. Trump does what he was paid to do, eg, shower Palantir with overpaid contracts & telling client states to do the same. As a client state, Britain does what it's told, incl evicting potential Corbyns.

"Lula has told a crowd of supporters in Sao Paulo that he will aim for common ground and that his election to a fourth term as president safeguarded the country’s democracy."
“Brazil is no one’s back yard,” he said.
OTOH, Bolsonaro said he would call for the results to be annulled, citing a two-hour extension to voting given by the Supreme Court as polls closed.

Never let yourself be persuaded that any one Great Man, any one leader, is necessary to the salvation of America. When America consists of one leader and 143,000,000 followers, it will no longer be America. Truly American leadership is not of any one man. It is of multitudes of men — and women.
Dwight David Eisenhower (1890–1969) American general, US President (1953–61)
Essay (1948-10), “An Open Letter to America’s Students,” Reader’s Digest

Today, the far-right Bolsonarists staged a coup against Brazil’s democratic elections.
"Dear non Brazilian friends. Grotesque voter suppression 🗣️allegedly🗣️orchestrated by bolsonarista mayors, police officers and public transportation officials across Brazil. Electoral Court judge extends voting for two hours in the country. The far right sees defeat." - Kleber Mendonça Filho, renowned filmmaker
"Widespread voter suppression is reportedly being carried out by local government officials aligned with Flávio Bolsonaro. They're breaking the law by keeping public buses in the garages to prevent poor and working classes Brazilians from voting. This is very serious." - Andrew Fishman, president & co-founder Intercept Brasil
"Lula tells reporters he has never before complained about elections he has been involved in, irrespective of whether he had won or lost. "But this time something abominable is happening." - Tom Phillips, Latin America correspondent for the Guardian
"So the Bolsonarismo is using every dirty tactic: now it is public transport availability. I hope the @OAS_official ( Organization of American States) observers are documenting this imminent threat to the right to vote of many, targeting the poor. #Brasil #BrazilElection - Renata Avila, CEO Open Knowledge Foundation

🤔 Ah, the irony of a "historic win" when Serbia's #students finally realize their #votes might actually count! 🎓🎉 Meanwhile, #Vucic wins the consolation prize for the best #concession speech in a #democracy where enabling JS is seemingly harder than toppling an incumbent. 🤷♂️📉

Presidential vote in Bulgaria heads to runoff amid Black Sea security fears
Experts said the very low voter turnout expressed frustration "with the very functioning of democracy" among Bulgarian citizens.

Yesterday, I watched the Mexican film Flies (Moscas), which deals with cancer. I found it particularly sad and moving, perhaps because I watched it just one day before the Brazilian presidential election.
I couldn't help seeing an analogy between cancer and the erosion of democracy.
Cancer can develop in different parts of the body. Our bodies are made up of trillions of cells, and some can become cancerous, spreading and eventually threatening the entire organism.
I kept thinking about how something similar can happen to democracy. Undemocratic forces can emerge in different parts of society and its institutions, gradually weakening the very system that allows them to exist.
Watching a film about such a devastating disease, while fearing for the future of democracy in my country, was an unexpectedly emotional experience.

Europos prokurorai atliko kratas kraštutinių dešiniųjų frakcijos biuruose
Europos prokuratūra Briuselyje ir Strasbūre atliko kratas Europos Parlamento biuruose. Tyrimas susijęs su galimu buvusios „Identity and Democracy“ frakcijos netinkamu 4,3 mln. eurų ES lėšų panaudojimu. Nors daugelis darbuotojų perėjo į naująją „Patriots for Europe“ grupę, pastaroji neigia bet kokias sąsajas su šiuo tyrimu.
