“PARIS — Far-right leaders Marine Le Pen and Jordan Bardella pledged on Monday to “liberate” the French economy by slashing red tape and bureaucracy.
“Regulations, often accumulated without real assessment of their impact, represent a staggering cost for economic actors … [and] decrease the purchasing power of French citizens,” they wrote in a joint letter to business leaders published on X.
According to the text, Le Pen and Bardella are tasking a group of National Rally officials to meet with business lobbies and organizations ahead of next year’s presidential election. Their goal will be drawing up a list of “harmful” regulations to be slashed if the far right comes to power. The group will be scrutinizing both EU and French rules.

Antifašistická politika se musí vrátit do ulic. Fašismus totiž už dávno není levičácké klišé, ale útočí na všech frontách - jak proti hodnotám svobody, solidarity a lidskosti, tak proti konkrétním lidem a skupinám.
Fašisti jsou v ulicích: jak ukázal loňský útok na demonstraci ve Frýdku-Místku i letošní snaha neonacistů narušit antifašistický hudební festival. Fašisti jsou v parlamentech i vrcholných pozicích (nejen) světových velmocí: jak ukazuje politika doma i v zahraničí, obracející se k utahování šroubů a imperiálnímu násilí. Fašisti jsou ve veřejném prostoru: vynášeni debilizujícími algoritmy sociálních sítí, šířící nenávistnou propagandu a stahující své publikum na tobogán fanatismu a teroru.
Cíli jejich politického ostřelování jsou teď uprchlíci, queer lidé, rovnost pohlaví, aktivismus snažící se zachránit zemské klima. Do toho např. v USA a Německu probíhají hony na čarodějnice proti antifašistům a zdejší vládní ultrapravice se ani netají tím, že by je ráda rozjela taky. Moc dobře ale víme, že u toho záměry ultrapravice nikdy nekončily. Jen v české polistopadové historii mají fašistické ideologie na svědomí desítky lidských životů. Dlouhodobější vizí ultrapravice je pak etnická "čistota" dosažená uzavíráním hranic a násilím, vymazání všech výdobytků feministických a socialistických zápasů posledních sto padesáti let, zadupání všech, kdo vybočují.
Co s tím? Svět se otřásá množstvím globálních krizí a venku obchází strach. Nesmíme ale propadat beznaději. Historie nás učí, že kdo se nepostaví na odpor hned, dost možná to už nestihne nikdy. Pojďme tedy vzdorovat teď, společně, bok po boku napříč všemi rozdíly a napříč oblastmi, na které zaměřujeme své emancipační boje a boje proti snahám připravit nás o naše práva!
Proti neonacistům, co se snaží oživit devadesátá léta s jejich rasistickým násilím a útoky proti všemu, co neopovídá jejich zvrácenému pohledu na svět. Proti neonacistům, co navlékli saka a začali sbírat lajky. Proti vládě oligarchů a fosilní lobby. Proti soustředěnému útoku na reprodukční a LGBTQ+ práva vedenému ultrakonzervativními spolky a jejich loutkami v politice. Proti vší etnické nenávisti. Proti šíření zoufalství a strachu. Za naději a možnost, že svět může být jiný - lepší pro všechny.
Sejdeme se na Prvního máje na Střeleckém ostrově v Praze, od 12 hodin. Akci svolává široká koalice antiautoritářských, queer-feministických a environmentálních kolektivů - Anarchistická federace, Alt*prajd, Brno proti fašismu, Dekonstrukce, eFko, Fridays for Future CZ, Kolektiv 115, Libereds, Limity jsme my, Praha je feministická a Univerzity za klima. A broad coalition of anti-authoritarian, queer-feminist and environmental collectives, invites you for a May Day demonstration 'Against fascism in a parliament and in our streets'.
It's about time that antifascist politics returns back to the streets. Fascism is no longer just a concern of some niche left-wing groups, but systematically attacks all fronts of life. The far-right threatens not only our values of freedom and solidarity, but also targets specific people and groups. Fascism is back and active in our streets - the September attack on a peaceful antifascist march by a group of far-right hooligans in Frydek-Mistek is one of many testimonies of that. Fascists have also entered the parliament and occupy top executive ranks of the global order, implementing harsh austerity measures and spreading imperial violence. Fascists are also increasingly visible in the public space - gaining exposure through social media driven by algorithms, they spread hate and propaganda, drawing its audiences deeper into the vicious spiral of polarisation and violence.
Their favourite targets, as we well know, are refugees and migrants, queer people, feminists and environmental activists. In USA and Germany, there are ongoing witch hunts against antifascists, which our own far-right groups would love to replicate here. However, we know very well, that their objectives do not stop here. The long-term obsession of the far-right is the idea of ethnic purity, which they want to achieve by closing all borders and erasing all achievements of feminist and socialist struggles of the past decades, while silencing anyone who dares to speak out.
What can we do about it? The world trembles under the hits of the global crisies and fear settles uncomfortably around us. We cannot give into despair. History teaches us that if we do not resist now, tomorrow might be too late. Let's come together and stand strong, side by side, connecting our diverse emancipatory struggles into one unified fight for freedom, against those, who are trying to take away our rights. Against neo-Nazis who want to revive the 90s era of racist violence. Against the government, oligarchs and the fossil lobby. Against the ultraconservative groups and their puppets in politics, who spread propaganda against LGBTQ+ communities.
We will meet on First of May at Střelecký ostrov in Prague at 12pm. After the official beginning, we will march through the centre of Prague, Against fascism in all its forms making our voices heard loud and clear. The event is organised by the following collectives: the (Czech) Anarchist Federation, Alt*pride, Brno against fascism, Dekonstrukce (an anarcho-queer collective), the eFko feminist collective, Fridays for Future CZ, the 115 Collective, Libereds, Limity jsme my - "We are the limits" environmental movement -, "Prague is feminist" movement, and Universities for climate.

We are calling for citizens’ assemblies on economic systems change so that we, the people, get a say in the kind of economic system we want.
What is a citizens’ assembly?
Citizens’ assemblies are designed to allow for a public debate outside of political parties. A randomly-selected group of citizens representing the full diversity of society are invited to participate in a process to explore an issue and formulate recommendations to government or parliaments. Often, independent experts are brought in to discuss problems and potential solutions.
We are living in a time of social and political polarisation. Social tensions are on the rise, bolstered by skyrocketing #inequality, and #democracy is increasingly at risk. Just 39% percent of people trust their governments to make good decisions. We urgently need to rebuild trust in our political systems.
On the other hand, we know that around the world, people want economic systems change. Holding citizens’ assemblies on this topic would open up space for exploring the kind of change we want, building trust and understanding between different groups, and co-creating a common agenda for the greater good.
In the 2024 Earth for All survey, 62% of people surveyed supported the use of citizens' assemblies to increase citizens’ influence in political decision-making.
What are some examples of citizens’ assemblies?
Citizens’ assemblies have already been used successfully to navigate politically contentious issues in highly polarised democracies. Prominent examples include:
- The Irish citizens’ assembly on abortion. The assembly is credited with helping Irish society navigate a deeply polarising issue. It led to a referendum and eventually a change in law.
- The Canadian Citizens’ Assembly on Democratic Expression, a three-year initiative to look at impact of digital technologies on society.
- France’s Convention Citoyenne Pour le Climat, the climate citizens’ assembly and a similar UK Climate Assembly.
- The Global Citizens’ Assembly for People and Planet was launched at New York Climate Week in 2024 and aims to bring citizen participation to the COP30 climate summit in Brazil."Source:
