Are some folks using #commodon for "communication via Mastodon" while others are using it for "computer science on Mastodon"? Are some using it for "computational communication" crossover posts only? Or for academic "communication studies" on Mastodon?
(Not to be confused with the maybe antiquated "Mass Comm," as the mass audience has become 21st century #individuated )

"Old Time Rock and Roll" is a song written by #GeorgeJackson and Thomas E. Jones III, with uncredited lyrics by #BobSeger. It was recorded by Seger for his tenth studio album #StrangerInTown. It was also released as a single in 1979. It is a sentimentalized look back at the music of #theOriginal #rocknRoll era and has often been referenced as Seger's favorite song. The song gained renewed popularity after being featured in the 1983 film #RiskyBusiness.

Post-meeting road jam on a pleasant Monday evening; the third major rock concert I ever saw (the first being Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers with second The Kinks) in the spring of 1983 was Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band. They played for four friggen hours and when they launched into this one as one of the encore numbers, the crowd - including an 18 year-old me - went absolutely nuts.

Swiss commentator at the winter olympics just dragging the Israeli bobsled team for filth. Turns out one of them was actively involved in military operations in Gaza recently.
There's of course rules against active duty soldiers suspected of war crimes playing in the games but the commentator notes those rules were primarily enforced against Russian athletes.
