Yesterday I gave a presentation about becoming a freelance copyeditor to a group of 7th to 9th graders. This was through a partnership between Vermont Works for Women and the Vermont Virtual Learning Cooperative.

There are ways to get quality #editing on a minimal budget. You just have to be willing to put in the time and effort, and think outside the box. In a nutshell: Apostrophes indicate contractions or ownership - NEVER a plural.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but “ibid.” is an abbreviation of “ibidem” and requires a period. Treat it similarly to “etc.”:
