Comment la propagande israélienne a mystifié le monde entier sur la réalité des massacres (indéniables mais pas comme rapportés) du 7 octobre 2023.
Une enquête minutieuse de Libération fait le point de ces grossiers mensonges destinés à tétaniser les esprits et à justifier un autre vrai massacre, mais à une échelle radicalement incomparable, mené par l'armée d'Israël à Gaza.
Comme le souligne Libération, dans un article du 11 décembre, le caractère ignoblement outrancier de ces mensonges d'État, relayés abondamment dans les médias israéliens comme dans les États alliés, a paradoxalement eu pour effet un retour de boomerang dévastateur sur les médias sociaux favorisant le déni des horreurs commises le 7 octobre !Extraits :
"Aujourd’hui, le bilan définitif du massacre est presque connu. De même que, pour bon nombre de civils tués, les circonstances de leur décès. Or, les données disponibles confirment que certaines horreurs initialement décrites n’ont pas eu lieu. Ces faux témoignages concernent quasiment exclusivement des allégations de sévices sur des enfants, qui ont été au cœur de la guerre de communication lancée depuis deux mois. Ils ont été relayés pendant des semaines par des secouristes volontaires, des soldats ou responsables de Tsahal, mais aussi au sommet de l’Etat et de la diplomatie israélienne. Ils ont irrigué la presse mondiale, ainsi que les déclarations de responsables politiques occidentaux."
"Dans une tribune récente publiée dans le magazine américain Newsweek, et intitulée «Le silence des instances internationales face aux viols massifs perpétrés par le Hamas est une trahison envers toutes les femmes», l’avocate et première dame d’Israël, Michal Herzog, a elle aussi fait référence à cet acte. Elle affirme hâtivement, et de manière erronée : «Une vidéo du Hamas provenant d’un kibboutz montre des terroristes en train de torturer une femme enceinte et de lui retirer son fœtus.» CheckNews a pu voir une vidéo qui circule et prétend apporter la preuve de cette exaction. Comme cela a été corrigé notamment par l’Anti-Defamation League, ONG de référence aux Etats-Unis dans la lutte contre l’antisémitisme, les images sont en réalité tirées d’une vidéo partagée en 2018, qui montrerait les sévices commis par un cartel mexicain. "Cette campagne, soufflée aux oreilles des dirigeants politiques, martelée sur les réseaux sociaux et aux journalistes, a eu pour but de rallier, puis consolider, le soutien de l’opinion israélienne et internationale aux violentes représailles à Gaza. Elle a aussi eu comme effet secondaire de nourrir, sur les réseaux sociaux, une puissante négation des crimes du 7 octobre, servant à mettre en doute les récits authentiques du massacre de quelque 800 victimes civiles. CW: Academic Workload
For a few years I've been maintaining and slowly improving a Google Sheet template to help #academics (particularly salaried academics) track how much they are working, and how this work is distributed. I've just updated the template for 2023.
The reason for this is academic #workloads are often left very abstract and vague, usually measured in 'percentages' with only the loosest connection to time and the actual number of hours you are paid to work. I find that tracking my hours helps to reassure me I am doing enough work in some aspects of my job (in #research, for instance), and also help prevent me from overworking.
For example, this year, I know I have worked 61 hours more than I have been paid for thus far. This means in December, once marking and everything is wrapped up, I'm just going to tap out and do pretty much no work for a couple of weeks (just keep an eye out for urgent emails), but also not take leave. Because those are hours I'm owed. So by the end of the year, I should be back close to zero hours overworked.
Some academics hate counting hours as bean counting or volunteering into surveillance. I get that. But considering how the ever-intensifying exploitation of academic staff relies on #university management obscuring and intensifying our work, I find tracking how much I've actually worked incredibly empowering.
