Let's introduce one slightly change at a time and in a few years we could transform #Markdown into #orgdown without anybody noticing and finally get a consistently designed and easy to learn lightweight #markup language with excellent tool support. 😈

Package Manager for Markdown
I'm working on a project that is intended to encourage folk to make markdown text files which can be bundled together in different bundles of text files using a package manager.
Question for coders; Which package manager would you suggest I use?
Main criterias (in order) are:
1. Easy for someone with basic command line skills to edit the file and update version numbers and add additional packages.
2. All being equal, more commonly and easy to setup is preferred.

```The curly-braces syntax for attributes is ignored when read as #CommonMark, the Markdown variant used by most platforms. The above ensures that syntax highlighting still works with CommonMark, and that the other attributes get respected when converting with #pandoc.

Pandoc's #Markdown supports attributes on headings, code, spans, etc. Attributes are enclosed by curly braces and follow this syntax:
{#identifier-value .class-one .class-two some-key="a value"}
Attributes can define an internal cross-ref target and carry a variety of additional information about the element, e.g. language or styling.

Question to the #Friendica crowd: is there any way to simplify post creation, probably with #addons ? I’d love to have a more #wysiwyg experience, in particular in regards to images and text formatting, for a little community of non-techie people I am thinking to set up. It is difficult to remember that you need to actually go to the image and edit it to enable public visibility (otherwise nobody will be able to see it in your post, and once it is federated you really can’t reliably change permissions retrospectively as those wont federate) and also the addition of alt text is cumbersome. If I could, I’d really love to get rid of visible #bbcode altogether in the composition window but I assume this is probably not possible. Is there any editor addon to do so? I am aware of the #markdown addon, but this doesn’t solve the issue with easier image embedding and handling. Happy for any hints in the right direction. BBCode and the handling of images and links etc. with bbcode tags are the two issues that stop me to use Friendica for this community as I really doubt people who have been using Facebook Groups and drag and drop functionality so far are easily getting their heads round this… -

I I installed Marksman under :nixos: (it's in nixpkgs). Kate detected it right away without needing to disconnect & reconnect the user session.
Now I can, say, open my Logseq folder in Kate, and navigate or preview files using [[Wiki-links]]. Pretty cool.
