Markdeep - a Markdown flavor which extends the base with various features like diagrams from ascii charts, ToC, LaTeX equations support, section numbering/references:

Drop a single javascript file alongside your html, and with a bit of boilerplate you just edit the source of html files directly, and the javascript+browser handles the rendering. If you view the page in text browser, you just see the text source code. I find this neat.

Markdeep is an extended dialect of Markdown that brings support for diagrams, #LaTeX, as well as intra-and-interdocument hyperlinking. Markdeep files are cleverly compiled so they can be viewed in both plain text as well as on a web browser. Alongside diagrams and LaTeX, Markdeep features tables, todo lists, page breaks, calendars, table of contents, references, and fallback modes.

nur dass es als JS-Lib nach dem Ausliefern über die Inahlte läuft, statt als static site generator ist ziemlich unschön
