  8. Just released version 0.4.10 of #aioCoAP, the asynchronous #Python library for #CoAP. The latest feature is support for #EDHOC (RFC9528), a highly efficient key establishment protocol. Documentation is at <aiocoap.readthedocs.io/>; the demo server described at <coap.amsuess.com/> also offers EDHOC now.

  9. So I just joined my first ever game of #BloodOnTheClocktower a few days ago: but I joined an asynchronous text-based game.

It’s been great fun! The worst thing is an ingame day is taking like 36 hours of real time, because the game has players spread out all over the globe, so the suspense of waiting for actions to resolve is killing me

  11. @pamelafox I wrote "coroutine" 469 times in Fluent Python Second Edition.

The main chapter about asynchronous programming is framework-agnostic.

The examples use , , and , to show that `async/await` are not tied to a specific runtime event loop or library.

  14. Online #Seminary is a different experience.

In one of my asynchronous courses, the prof doesn't lecture. He has canned 10-25pg PDFs of lecture notes that we're to read each week, alongside course readings and assignments. It's certainly not how I would teach, but at the end of the day, it's async: he would've just been canning videos anyway.

My other course is synchronous. So I join in by Teams, and I see my face plastered on the wall of the classroom while half are online and half in-person.

  18. So now I am a bit puzzled. Just use request.Session for the majority of smaller cases, and for many requests use concurrent.futures?

What is your experience? Are there particular reasons you would use httpx over requests or concurrent.futures? E.g. scaling, asyncio, HTTP/2 support, other?

  21. Zulip is absolutely underrated as a chat platform for teams. Its automatic threading makes it so much easier to catch up on previous conversations than with Slack, Teams or Discord. In my opinion, Zulip is ideal for distributed teams who prefer to work and communicate asynchronously -- like my team, for example.
