His TL;DR is that AI is going to do to libraries what Google did to GPs 15 years ago... people turned up having googled their symptoms. Once you start opening up sources of information to people who haven't previously had access, especially when it's specialised, they can come to wrong conclusions

Has anyone had any experience in distributing a digital strategy? Like instead of simply having a centralised digital strategy for the Digital team, also having digital strategies for each line of work, e.g. a digital strategy for interpretation, development, learning etc etc that either correspond to or feed into the digital uber-strategy??

new publication from me and Beck Shaefer: "Handicapped has been cancelled: The terminology and logics of disability in cultural heritage institutions"
Addressing historic Library of Congress headings like "people with social disabilities" we show how classification systems often erase disability and replace them with eugenic narratives about overcoming adversity or policing deviance. :

hiii y'all! I can (finally) announce that I've won (finally) announce that I've won a #vaniercanada Graduate Scholarship.
The award recognizes "world-class doctoral students... who demonstrate both leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement"
My goal with the award money is (pending committee and ethics review) is to give it back by paying my research subjects (#catalogers in #GLAMS) for their time in focus groups improving the description of marginalized communities. -
