I’m not against #AI at all btw. To me, this is just a word to vaguely describe a number of technolgies to somewhat resemble human intelligence.
What I am against is AI #bullshitting. I.e. making claims about AI tech that are either unverifiable or have even been debunked before.
For example, spreading the misinformation that LLMs are good tools to summarize text, when data shows they’re anything but.
Or just magical thinking in general ("AI will save/doom us all!!11!").

My game #Lazarr! addresses colorblindness with color settings and markings. The game #Hedgewars, in which I am part of the dev team (but inactive atm), the displayed team colors can be customized. Color is not gameplay-relevant in all other games I’m involved in.
I have never received direct feedback from a colorblind person so far tho, so what I did in Lazarr! is based on some general advice on some accessibility advice website. But to be fair, Lazarr! is still in beta status.(4/?)

Just a quick update for the spyglass. It now adds a fancy on-screen border and switches camera mode to first person. That’s it! (apart from translation updates)

I definitely recommend clicking through the ILGA-Europe Rainbow map, it gives an useful overview over the legal situation for LGBTQ+ folk in Europe. And there are some pretty striking differences.

The #ILGA-Europe Rainbow Map 2025 went online today, which rates how equal or unequal #LGBTQ+ people are treated in #Europe.
Unsurprisingly, #Hungary’s rating got way worse.
Here’s a chart showing #UK’s score has dropped from 86% in 2015 to 46% in 2025. This year it dropped by 5 percentage points, due to court decisions that effectively nullified legal #gender recognition for trans ppl.
The org also notes there is a general negative trend in Europe.

#HadesRevisited version 0.17.0 is out now!
This update makes many changes to the plant growth system. The seasons and seeds have become much more important, as different plants grow.The codebase has also more or less stabilized; I expect future updates to break things not as aggressively as before. Remember this game is still very WIP, so the balancing might be off.

After a long pause, I recently picked up development on #HadesRevisited again.
There's a lot of behind-the-scenes work but the gist of it is that I worked a lot on the plant system, especially seasons will become more relevant as they affect which fruits and vegetables grow and many other plants.
Another big feature is the "simulation", a virtual place that serves as a training ground. It will be this game’s unique way to do a tutorial of sorts.

Some things I learned while doing #Landlords1904:
▶️ Some rules of the original game are vague, so I had to fill in the gaps. The worst offender is borrowing
▶️ The gameplay under Single Tax rules feels almost like a plan game; player choices are much more limited 🙁
▶️ The poorhouse is worse than jail. If you're not careful, you're stuck there for many rounds. I believe this was intentional to infuriate players, so the original might be an early example of rage game mechanics 😉 -
I’ve worked in the past days on #Landlords1904 to make it somewhat more usable, implemented the first parts of the 'single tax' rule and other game modes and even implemented a simple computer player. It's SLIGHTLY less ugly.
An important part of the original game war clearly bidding (auctioining) and trading. Those are special because they allow other players to act when it's not their turn so I need to figure out a solution for when the game is played on only 1 computer by multiple people.

Hmm … Turns out I'm not really ready to continue with #Lazarr! right now. I tried, but more than a simple bugfix and a tiny level was not in it.
I'm more in a flow with #Landlords1904 atm, I guess I shouldn’t throw it away.

FYI: If I ever pick it up again, these are my "minimum" goals for me to call my small project 'Landlords 1904' acceptable:
▶️ Implement all the missing rules
▶️ Fix all crashes
▶️ Add computer player that is smarter than a brick
▶️ Make the graphics suck less
▶️ 1900's aesthetic (graphics- + audio-wise)
▶️ UI polish (animations, make it easier to see what happens, eye candy)
