    @jon I'm 95% with you Jon, with a few notable exceptions. Truly great as is, until the day there's a suitable alternative (i.e. not different profiles) to Firefox's multi-account containers, I'll be sticking with , because that feature it's just too critical to my workflow. I also much prefer running straight (stable) on all my systems and favor the DDG alternative [noai.duckduckgo.com/] over their stock offering. Been a Fastmail customer for more than a decade.

    Picture-in-picture (PiP) displays a video in a small floating window, allowing you to multitask across tabs or apps while it continues playing.

    There are a few ways to enable Picture-in-Picture in Vivaldi on Android. Some video players have a special button for PiP, in full screen mode you can go to the home screen to trigger the PiP video player, but on many websites, there’s also a third option.

    To open a PiP window from a context menu:

    1. Long-press on the video.
    2. Select “Picture-in-Picture”.

    For a long time we have made our selves gradually more and more dependent on Big Tech. This applies when it comes to operating system, to browsers, to various services, to storage and now when it comes to AI.

    More and more are realizing this was and is wrong.

    You can take the first steps to be independent as a person or company. Obviously, given that you are here, you have already taken some steps. Here are some suggestions:

    1. Switch browser... to Vivaldi. :)
    2. Switch desktop OS. Personally I have switched to Linux. Currently running Kubuntu, Ubuntu and Zorin on different computers.
    3. Switch mail service. Proton and Fastmail are good services, but there are others. Choose one that allows use of a mail client.
    4. Switch calendar service. Most mail services also offer a calendar service.
    5. Switch office package. Personally I use LibreOffice.
    6. Switch Web conferencing software. Personally I use Whereby.
    7. Switch search. Startpage, Ecosia, Qwant and DDG are great alternatives.

    There are a lot of other great choices. The point is to start taking those steps away from Big Tech and Silicon Valley.

    One of the best things about the Fediverse is that ever since joining back in November of 2022 I have been getting a crash course in computer programming and Foreign Languages. I have been learning about the different operating systems, API's, DNS, coding and programming etc and I have been learning basic phrases, greetings and grammar for way more languages than my usual Spanish and English. I love this place

    Just curious - I used to have an active Vivaldi webmail account. Didn't use it for a while, for various reasons. I am back now and it is like this: get active socially and you can have your webmail account back. I am not arguing. I am just wondering - what's up? Too many spammers and bots?

    Puts me in mind in a situation in one town where they installed beautiful dustbins, all cast iron and wood, only to have to dismantle them all (well, the remaining ones) because the local junkies had taken to nicking the bins and selling them as scrap metal so they can buy their poison...

    It is a crazy world we're living in.

I was very happy I found out "Betty Crocker" has a website and as I was signing up for an account .... I found this in their T&C's and privacy policy .... I share this to spread awareness about the importance of reading the policies on all these websites ... the main stream internet is a treacherous place nowadays ....
