I love my #pole studio and it's owner so much.
I'm working on a performance for the studio anniversary and today I asked her for help and feedback.
Not only did she get the story I'm trying to tell in my choreography, her feedback was amazing and helpful.
I've known her for three years now and it still warms my heart to hear her say:
"Your skirt could be more flowy. Here, try mine!"
"If you want to add heels we'll find a way. What about ..."
It's her unconditional acceptance which makes me feel safe in this studio since day 1. -

CN homophobia, rant
Today my son told me that a classmate found my Instagram profile (which contains mostly #pole fitness content) - and shared it with the class.
According to the class I'm
- gay (and they're using that as an insult)
- a stripper (insult again)
- a firefighterMy son doesn't want me to hide anything but knowing that he's already being harassed I don't necessarily agree.
Obviously this is not (only) the kids fault, the parents also didn't do a good job educating their kids about tolerance and diversity. May I scream at all of them?!
It's the conviction that "that which is different must be punished" which gets me. I was naïve and thought that people in our generation learned that such a behavior is not acceptable.
But no, they either haven't learned or at least didn't pass it on to their kids. -
Sadly the pair workshop on "gender sensitive software development" that I contributed to didn't make the program.
So if any conference is interested in letting the participants learn about an often overlooked #accessibility problem that affects many people please get in touch!

Successfully facilitated another #ensemble #exploratory #testing session with the team today.
Besides great product findings we also identified a new type of "navigator" - the "taxi passenger navigator".
They give the driver an idea what to do then don't say anything for five minutes and let the driver do their job.
In the defense of the navigator he had just returned from the dentist. 😅

Today is one of those days where I'm mad at society and myself. Mad at society for imposing gender rules on clothes and mad at myself that I struggle so much to overcome them.
I bought myself such a cute #pole outfit but as soon as I see myself in a cropped sports top a voice in my head screams "you're not a woman and that's womens clothing! You're making a fool out of yourself!"
Which is not true and I know that. But still...

I spent a while fixating on trying to discover why the macOS iCloud/“CloudDocs”/“Mobile Documents” daemon is named bird, w/ a cli in /usr/bin named brctl
After some digging I’m /pretty/ sure the b stands for uBiquity— an internal codename for what was marketed as “iCloud”; this is supported by e.g. [1]’s equivalence between ubiquityIdentityToken and com.apple.bird.token
I’m still pretty at total guess on r, leaning “record” (maybe also as rc → record since bird is code-internally BRCDaemon ; though it also seems likely c = container. I don’t think rc → runcom by way of initrc, bashrc, etc)
secondary theory is br is for “barrier” based on a loose symbol or two.
I’m pretty strongly guessing that “i” in bird stands for nothing so much as “OMG [ swe coworker], it’s not pronounced Bee-Arr-Dee, it’s pronounced BIRD” (cf gif, sql, … cuddle vs c-t-l [by rights hachyderm is ku-bECK-dl / ku-Bechdel territory] )
