Josh Boschee, a Democratic ND State Senator, has been elected Mayor of Fargo, the state's largest city. In a crowded field, Boschee won 47% of the vote, nearly 20% ahead of Trumpy candidate Michelle Turnburg.

In Fargo, ND there is a jam packed used bookstore called BDS Books where I can wander for days. Lots of weird stuff. I picked up a high school year book, and page after page was annotated by a teacher, with notes about her students. She followed their lives. On this page with a picture of a basketball team, she wrote "These boys were in a car accident in Jamestown, ND, Aug-1961." The 19 year old apparently lost his life, the 20 year old his left arm. Page after page of these notes about students she taught. They were important to her. I should have bought it, but I now I dont think I could ever find it again in that cavernous place.

I watched Rosemary's Baby tonight on #Svengoolie. I've seen it a few times now, but only tonight did I finally realize that the horror of this movie is not about Satan, or Satan's baby, or even ugly naked old people. The horror is actually rape of a woman, and that nobody believed her. And even worse, this film was directed by Roman Polanski, a child rapist. Forgive me.

After 2 months that included a rejected arbitration claim, a successful appeal, and various legal threats, #Nissan will repurchase our 2020 #Leaf. Since January, 2026, we have not been able to drive our #EV because of a bad battery. Thankfully it's under warranty, but Nissan has no batteries to give. So I invoked our state's Lemon Law. Now that they have agreed to repurchase, another 6 to 12 weeks to get paid. Meanwhile, not really digging the gas Altima loaner. I'll be glad when this is over.

I spent yesterday at the very first Northern Plains Indigenous Film Festival. The organizers are well in their way to bringing something very special and sorely needed to our community. It was interesting, humbling, educational and often funny to watch submitted works by local, national and Canadian filmmakers. I learned from stories and voices I had never heard before, from places I have never been before. Quite a few makers and actors traveled to the event, held at the historic #FargoTheatre. Well done, and thanks to all who made it happen. I can't wait for next years' fest.

We watched the movie #Fargo last night, in the packed Fargo Theater, with actor Peter Stormare who played the blonde killer Gaear Grimsrud. The movie is 30 years old, and the theater is celebrating 100 years. It was a fun night, and a great movie that still gets the job done.

To shovel, or not to shovel — that is the question:
