Our No Kings event in Dover was well attended, but I had hoped for a larger crowd.
Then I learned there were nine events in Delaware! Nine in our tiny state!
That means many very local folks found each other and are uniting to fight fascism and grift together. Win!

After a long hot day of #NoKings3 activities in #Phoenix, 300* people packed themselves in my condo for an after-party, and it was glorious.

Lots of food, drink, for sure. But it also shored up personal connections between people who only see each other for an hour or so every week or so.

Our local community of resisters was made that much stronger. We’re better for it.

* OK, I may be exaggerating by an order of magnitude. But it was packed!

I'm a Christian, but not a Christian Nationalist, so this lone protestor with his sign really moved me.

There were so many great signs, that ranged from simple home-made statements to professional prints, but this was my personal favorite.

It's especially haunting to me because it's being held by one of the few Minority protestors. He was there by himself. I did not see any other Hispanics (although I don't blame them for staying home) and only maybe a dozen Black people (i don't blame them, either.)

Greensboro has a long history of racial bias.

And of course, there were a couple of idiots off to the side, with folding tables, selling t-shirts featuring the No Kings logo.

But not a single counter-protestor. No one was harmed or arrested while I was there.

I'm guessing at least 5,000 protestors marched to the Guilford County Courthouse, and I observed them to be predominantly white people, of Boomer or Gen-X ages, although there were also a few Millenials in the mix, and a handful of younger families with small children.

I saw just as many men as women, and I noticed quite a few veteran's hats or military flags.

Three marches passed safely through the city streets. I saw no counter-protestors on my route. We were instructed / escorted / observed by the city police.

All 3 marches ended in downtown Greensboro, in front of the courthouse, where another crowd had already gathered. At one point, authorities asked everyone to move away from the area, and get back at least two stoplights' distance, due to a discovery that caused concern. Everyone quietly and respectfully backed up, and we all stayed away, until we were given the all-clear to return safely.

No one was hurt or arrested while I was there, although a couple of older women fell during the march. But they got back up, and kept on marching.
