The Rare Birds Report included Acadian Flycatchers this morning, a bird that should be two weeks gone. These are beautiful flycatchers (tyrants), with distinct calls ('peet-sah'), One has been hanging around the maintenance yard, so not hard to believe the sighting.

Also including a Great Crested Flycatcher, as they should be gone by end of week.

Rare bird sightings include Acadian Flycatchers, Magnolia Warblers, and Golden-winged Warblers lately, The Magnolia and Golden-winged are truly rare since we are barely one the fringe of their migration. No photos of the Golden-winged, only recordings and memories so you're stuck with a Magnolia.

Also including a Blue-gray Gnatcatcher since it is a favorite. They nest in our area and are amazingly gregarious, a joy to watch.

Ein Trauerschnäpper sucht nach Beeren im Holunder. Leider sind die Blüten diesen Sommer fast alle verbrannt, die paar Beeren hängen vertrocknet wie Rosinen am Baum. Der Holunder selbst sieht aus als sei es Spätherbst. Seit den Bewässerungssäcken scheint er sich aber zu erholen.
