NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR JULY 29, 2026:
A high-pressure system will keep the #Northland #dry Tuesday night with a bit of patchy #fog in spots. Low #temperatures will be #seasonal in the 50s and low 60s.
It remains mostly #sunny and #hazy Wednesday with a stray pop-up #shower and #thunderstorm possible. Highs will be in the 80s and low 90s with #muggy dew points.

There could be a very stray pop-up #shower or #thunderstorm later today, but overall it will remain #dry for nearly all of us.

Good morning from Minneapolis! After a 100-degree day Monday — and yet not a record — we're heading for a high of only 91 degrees today, Tuesday.
Quite early Tuesday it's 74℉; partly cloudy; light winds; visibility 10 miles at the airport
"Just to recap yesterday, MSP recorded an 81 degree dewpoint at 2AM (1 degree shy of the all time record) and then after mixing/drying out during the afternoon, it recorded our first 100 degree day since June of 2022. In a sadistic coincidence, yesterday was sandwiched between two days where the daily record is 100F, but had a 104F daily record itself. So we came up short of a daily record, but it was still a fun day for weather nerds in the Twin Cities."

It may not have been the most widespread #severe #weather event in the #Northland Sunday night and Monday morning, but some spots did see strong #winds and #hail.
The biggest hail was in the #SouthShore region. Not often we see #baseball size #hailstones. There was vehicle damage, but thankfully no injuries.

Others are #cooler near #LakeSuperior thanks to a lake #breeze, which is also bringing some #fog onto the shoreline.

This Severe #Thunderstorm Watch continues through 9 a.m. (Central Daylight Time).
Greatest threats are #hail up to 2-inches in diameter, and #wind gusts up to 70 mph. A #tornado or two is possible.

This thunderstorm is becoming more of a #wind threat as well as a possible #hail threat.

The #showers and #thunderstorms currently in the #Northland remain below #severe threshold.
However, more development is expected throughout the night to our west as the ingredients for them remain available.
High #winds are now the biggest threat from the strongest #storms.

A new #Severe #Thunderstorm #Warning is in effect for northeast Itasca and east-central St. Louis counties in the #Northland.
This storm is more of a #hail threat rather than a #wind threat for now. The #Hibbing/#Chisholm area will again be under the greatest threat around 9:30.

One #thunderstorm in the #Northland is currently strong enough to warrant a #Severe Thunderstorms #Warning, the first for the evening.
It will be going over the #Hibbing/Chisholm area of the #IronRange within the next 15 minutes.
If it holds together, it will be near the #TwinPorts by around 8:15.

There are a few #showers and #thunderstorms over the northern half of the #Northland this evening. They are not #severe, but could have some gusty #winds and a brief #downpour.
The main #severe #weather threat for our region is still possible later this evening and tonight.

NORTHLAND FORECAST FOR JULY 27, 2026:
A #storm system and cold front will bring scattered #showers and #thunderstorms through the #Northland Sunday evening and overnight, including possible #severe #storms. Low #temperatures remain #mild in the 60s.
Monday will see #decreasing #clouds and a light east #wind. Highs will be #cooler next to #LakeSuperior in the 70s, with 80s farther inland.
