Greene & Greene sconce

Recycled sapele mahogany with rosewood inlays.
30cm x 17 cm x 17cm

With the damaged/discarded leftovers of the bed in my previous post, I've made this small Greene & Greene style sconce.
Usually I hide the blemishes of the wood (old nail holes scratched surfaces etc) but not here. I incorporated them trying to mimic an old heavily used item.

My first attempt in cold-casting.

This lamp took me three years and numerous failures.

The girl and pose was created with blender then 3d printed.

The statue is made from 40% clear resin, 60% copper powder.

The base is made out of clay and wood which is covered also with with resin at same ratio.

The lamp shade is stained glass.

Μόλις έβαλα τις τελευταίες πινελιές σε αυτή την πρόσοψη ντουλαπιού μπάνιου με καθρέπτη.
Δοκίμασα και την τύχη μου με την ξυλογλυπτική αλλά για την ώρα ας πούμε πως δεν είναι και κανένα αριστούργημα. 🙁

Το κυρίως ξύλο είναι ανακυκλωμένο μαόνι σαπέλι με διάφορα διακοσμητικά στοιχεία φτιαγμένα από δρυ και παλίσσανδρο.
Είναι εμπνευσμένο από το στυλ επίπλων και αρχιτεκτονικών στοιχείων των αδερφών Greene & Greene με στοιχεία art nouveau.

Hello there,😀

I just finished this Greene & Greene/art nouveau inspired bathroom cabinet façade out of Mahogany.

I tried my luck in carving.
The result is not something I should boast though. 😞
I tried to depict an art nouveau style reclined pensive lady.

The frame and the cabinet door is made of reclaimed mahogany. The upper part of the door has an oak veneer and the various ornamental elements are made of mahogany and bois de rose.
