They pretty quickly determined that the runes were a pentagram (GURPS term, DnD term: magic circle) which also enclosed an area the suppressed regular spells and enchantments while just blocking missile spells.
Exits were double doors ahead, and an archway to either side. The left archway led to a guest barrack. The one to
