@ILikeBooks Hasbro Wizards released a more restrictive license for #4thEdition called the GSL that basically nobody used, mainly because #4E was bad, that caused the aforementioned mutiny on the part of third party developers like #Paizo. Hasbro also screwed Paizo but moving Dungeon Magazine and Dragon Magazine in house.

@ILikeBooks The #OGL was a permanent permission to take the rules of #DnD 3rd edition and make your own stuff for with a few caveats like how you couldn't use "product identity" things such as Beholders or Drizzt Do Urden. Then #4thEdition game out and it sucked. #Paizo and others used the OGL to remake older editions in the form of #Pathfinder for 3rd edition and the #OSR for older editions than that. Wizards, now owned by #Hasbro tried to put the genie back in the bottle then too
