#pnpde -

1) Yes, although there are limits - I don't like settings that are relentlessly bleak with no hope. #CallOfCthulhu and #WFRP are fine, but #MörkBörk is too much.
2) As a GM, I like it when the PCs gradually piece the clues together until they realize just how screwed the situation is. As a player, I like it when the PCs manage to get out of a situation despite overwhelming odds.
What I don't like is when player characters lose agency. They should always be able to make choices. Sure, sometimes none of the options are great, but that's how it goes.
3) My favorites are either modern-ish horror or fantasy horror. Horror works best when it is embedded into the familiar, and most #ttrpg players are familiar with the tropes of the modern world, and with modern fantasy.
4) I think horror can be done with most games - it's about the mood rather than any specific game mechanics. Sure, the power of the PCs will provide some constraints for the threats. But what matters is that the players care about the setting and the people within it.

Moin! 😅 #osr

Finished reading Mörk Borg and it first supplement, Heretic.
Now I get it.
MB is not Grimdark™, it is so dark and so grim and so metal that is stupid and funny. The fields you walk may be littered by corpses, but you are probably accompanied by a dancing rat and a sword that insults you.

Finished heretical priest from the mork borg miniatures Kickstarter. Absolutely love the sculpt on this one and the rest of the set. Part of me wishes I had fully backed the KS so I would have them all, but maybe with time I'll grab em.
For the symbols on the banners, I looked at alchemical and witchcraft symbols, but I feel I need to find more sources for fun symbols, as I'm always finding good spots on minis for them.
