@vosje62 @fransdroog @ReneDamkot Tentamens/Examens en Proefwerken zou je op speciaal daarvoor bedoelde en door de school/installing beheerde computers moeten doen. Hier privé computers voor willen gebruiken opent een onoplosbare doos van pandorra qua #privacy en beheer, terwijl het het spiek probleem niet oplost.

#Spain #FacialRecognition #HigherEd #Proctoring: "Taking exams online is a common modality in many higher education institutions, especially after the coronavirus pandemic forced millions of students around the globe to stay at home. Some of these institutions opted to buy software that, once installed in the students’ computers at home, monitors their performance all the way. This means that the supervision during the test is mostly or fully automated – and there are times when this can affect people’s futures.
These monitoring systems are known as ‘proctoring’ programs. In Spain, several universities started using them during the pandemic and kept them afterward for distance learning. Many of these universities relied on the proctoring software provided by the Spanish company Smowltech. Among them is the International University of La Rioja (UNIR), which has been accused by a group of students of failing around 200 people who took online exams last May. The reason could have been a glitch in Smowltech’s program.
For several days, most of these students had a zero in several subjects, and it was not until they organized and reported the situation to the university that revisions started to take place."

Well, how annoying is this? If I take a university course online, I am now required to submit to online proctoring. That means granting some company access to my computer and webcam. No, no, no, a thousand times no.

what is the privacy policy (ideally) for online tests that use #webcam access for #proctoring? I am just wondering where pics of my home interiors will land up/end up.
