I'm actually stunned that it's the year 2025, and #OmekaS is still such a mess in its user experience and software architecture, and there is no meaningful alternative for it.

All I want is an #RDF triplestore with a user interface that allows basic input types, simple rest API for front end apps to consume, some basic access controls, plugin extensibility, and basic vocabularies preinstalled (dc, foaf, schema.org).

Wallahi it's not that difficult to implement.

Yesterday I configured two VMs inside #proxmox to run some museums specific software. Learned some new stuff in this great software, i.e. store the backups in a NFS share on a second machine.
First is #PartDB as inventory software for our whole stuff including the library like books and software. And second is #Omeka for additional information about the machines in our exhibition.
It looks like we'll have a long way to go to get our entire inventory in order.

hey digital cultural heritage bubble, does anybody know how to freeze an @Omeka instance and turn it into a static version that can be archived and made available for the long term? ideally this would not involve crawling the site, which seems somewhat error-prone…
