I successfully installed the new thermostat in the fridge. Did it fix the problem? Not sure. Only time will tell.
Ai gave me the confidence to attempt fixing this myself, but fell short with the details. I should have consulted YouTube earlier - it had the exact video(s) I needed.

Blow drying my freezer to defrost it wasn't on my bingo card this weekend. This needs to be done because the fridge part isn't cooling properly.
So far I've nailed it down to either a thermostat or the control board. I tested the defrost heater and it showed resistance so I'm hoping for the thermostat since it's only $8. 🤞🤞🤞

‘‘Twas tragic. Sigh. Tell us your “food tragedies”? Ours was yesterday when I discovered the big freezer door had been ajar at least 12 hours if not more. Seems “Somebody” had set some icepacks out of place by an inch or 2 preventing the door closing tight with the seal. Today I begin trying to cook up as much formerly rock hard frozen food as possible. I think you are taking a food safety risk to let food refreeze? Sigh.
So, maybe commiserate with me by sharing your food storage malfunctions?

#privileg consumer standing #freezer has large plastic drawers which 100% definitely are under-engineered and break, crack, split in normal use due to the forces involved in pulling out a drawer full of frozen produce. The good old freezer trick ... (aka receipt for dead devices)
My Turris Omnia NG router was dead. No lights nowhere. I took out the installed NVMe SSD. I took out the RTC battery. Nothing helped. The display stayed black, the etherenet ports didn't blink at all.
So I unplugged everything and put the power supply and the router into the freezer for half an hour. Then I took everything out, waited another half hour and plugged everything back together and ... the router lived again!
(Sometimes «fixing» things can be really strange.)
