Viele Funktionen nutzte ich in der Nextcloud ja nicht. Deshalb habe ich mich ja für andere Wege entschieden. Cryptomator und Joplin mit einem S3 Speicher, Kalender und Kontakte nutze ich mit Mailcow.
Jetzt bekam ich vor kurzem auf der Arbeit eine Datei zugeschickt. Zu groß für das Postfach, also per Link um diese bei swissfiles in den nächsten 30 Tagen herunterzuladen. Die eine oder andere Datei hatte ich auch hin und wieder per Nextcloud geteilt. Dies fällt ja aber nun auch weg. Also musste eine Lösung her: Pingvin.
Abgesichert mit Authelia als OIDC und die Registrierung deaktiviert, weil ich ja nicht will, das Gott und die Welt unbekannte Dateien über meinen Server verbreitet. Das kann ja mal schnell nach hinten losgehen. Fehlte nur noch ein Virenscanner, falls ich mal einen Link erstelle, über den andere User auch Dateien für mich hochladen können.
Für mich immer noch sinnvoller als eine Nextcloud zu betreiben und zu warten.

Ich habe ja lange Zeit eine eigene Nextcloud betrieben, aber dann kam irgendwann einmal die Überlegung, wofür nutze ich sie überhaupt? Klar zur Dateiennablage, für die Notizenapp und um Office im Browser zu nutzen. Ansonsten nutze ich für Bilder ente und für caldav/carddav nutze ich die Funktion auf meinem Mailcow Server. Für meinen Anwendungsbereich ist eine komplette Nextcloud einfach zu übertrieben. Also habe ich mich dazu entschieden einen anderen Weg zu gehen. Um Dateien von überall erreichbar zu haben nutze ich jetzt einfach Cryptomator und als Speicher habe ich einen S3 Bucket bei Hetzner eingerichtet. Ebenso verfahre ich mit den Notizen. Da nutze ich nun Joplin und auch hier liegt der Speicher bei Hetzner. Die Kosten dafür sind wirklich minimal und Cryptomator wie auch Joplin, speichern die Daten verschlüsselt. Ab und an mache ich dann mal ein Backup auf eine Festplatte, falls da doch mal was bei Hetzner schief gehen sollte. Für das Problem mit Office, habe ich mit einfach einen Docker Container mit Libreoffice aufgesetzt, den ich mit Authelia abgesichert habe und so kann ich dann bei bedarf auch mal ein Dokument im Browser öffnen, erstellen oder bearbeiten. Kosten und Verwaltung nehmen hier einfach weniger Zeit und Geld in Anspruch.

You will need to constantly monitor and maintain your domain reputation to prevent Google and Apple from marking your mails as spam and so on. I see #Mailcow is a popular choice among those who dared.

Have just migrated #mailcow . I was not entirely happy before due to https://github.com/mailcow/mailcow-dockerized/issues/1245 , now I am even more displeased. After using the official backup and restore procedure, users authentication stopped working. That's pretty disappointing, on top of backup mechanism which is non-incremental, and restore mechanism which requires mailcow to be *running*. I resorted to "rsync /var/lib/docker/volumes/" instead, which worked.
