With Part-DB 2.5 you can now easily switch between database platforms. If your instance has grown too large for #sqlite or wanna use native natural sorting only #postgresql or #mariadb (not MySQL) support, then you can now easily migrate without any data loss.
Under the hood the data is copied on an object level using #doctrine ORM, so this is also easy to maintain and should works even as Part-DB develops further.

@agowa338 @ct_Magazin partkeepr ist archived aber #inventree (@InvenTree) und #partdb exsistieren als Elektronik-fokussierte Nachfolger
Home Box ist für Heim-Inventar aber sicher simpler. Elektronik-Bauteile damit zu verwalten stelle ich mir allerdings komplex vor.

Finally migrated my small #partkeepr instance to #partdb, so I can now shut down that old #Debian Stretch VM 😄
The migration went fairly well although the result needed some adjustments, but that's to be expected.
Globally very satisfied with it, except regarding the part info page, which forces you to constantly switch between "tabs" to access basic info, while a good two thirds of the screen stays empty.
Hey, @Part_DB, is there any way to contribute without creating a github account?

Yesterday I configured two VMs inside #proxmox to run some museums specific software. Learned some new stuff in this great software, i.e. store the backups in a NFS share on a second machine.
First is #PartDB as inventory software for our whole stuff including the library like books and software. And second is #Omeka for additional information about the machines in our exhibition.
It looks like we'll have a long way to go to get our entire inventory in order.

I've set up an inventory system for my #electricalengineering stuff yesterday. Definitely didn't take the whole day because I wanted to use an Alpine Linux container instead of Debian. But I think it was well worth it. Now I have my inventory, datasheets, footprints, and 3D models all in one place! And there's a #KiCAD plugin for it as well! Though that's yet to be tested.
The software is called #PartDB.

Been playing with #partdb (https://github.com/Part-DB/Part-DB-server) lately to see if it's a good way to keep my ever growing parts collection cataloged and findable. The #kicad integration seems like a great idea, but haven't done much besides dropping a few parts on a schematic.
Still have a few "best practices" to figure out. In particular, does anyone have any pointers on how best to manage generic/multi mfg parts like resistors?
