The bike that got me back in the saddle. A few years back, after not riding for many years, my wife took me to a local bike shop to buy me one for Father’s Day. I still remember the first ride home. It was only about 3 miles, but when I got home I felt like I was going to vomit. I was that out of shape.
I still take it whenever we go camping, and on our most recent trip to Algonquin Park I used it do a little exploring. And yes, that’s bear spray in the bottle cage 😜

Rugged and beautiful Aldeyjarfoss in North East #Iceland for #WaterfallWednesday
A little off the beaten track, this amazing location was well worth a side trip. Located approximately 1 hour drive south of the more popular Godafoss, you will find far less people, and if you explore the immediate vicinity you will also find a few extra waterfalls to visit. A 4wd vehicle is required to access the location. -
Red rocket to Long Branch.
A little nighttime street photography for a change of pace. -
The famous Sólheimasandur Plane Wreck in Iceland.
Back when you had to walk the 7km round trip along a rocky road, not just hop on a bus. The walk along the desolate landscape was actually one of the more memorable parts of the side trip. Tiring, but memorable.
When we arrived I was disappointed that the fog had yet to dissipate, but after a while I used it to my advantage to visually isolate the wreck. -
One afternoon last summer while riding, I happened across the perfect entrance to a farm field. Nice gravel road with the perfect sky in the background and a large puddle to capture a reflection.

After a summer storm Kathy and I decided to venture out to one of our local paddling spots, Cootes Paradise in Hamilton, Canada, for a couple of hours of tranquility. As the sun faded, the clouds dissipated, and we were blessed with this stunning sunset.

Oh the things you see while walking the streets of Havana.
This young lady makes her income posing for tourist photos with her cat and cigar.
The posed snapshots are okay, but I prefer the more natural candid shot. -
Warmer than spring like temperatures have arrived in our part of Canada, and as such a good ride was in order. It was a slow, stop and smell the flowers, kind of ride. My favourite kind.

While getting my bike ready for my first group ride of the season (tomorrow), I started to think about the route, and all of the interesting sights we will see. This location is a little past mid-route at a local brewery, Collective Arts Brewing, in Hamilton, Canada. Their building is covered in amazing murals and is a great place to stop for photos, and a cool refreshment 🍺😜👍

Hey all! Are there any other cycling enthusiasts on here?
I have found a lot of amazing photographers to follow, but hardly any riders.
Here are a couple of photos of me enjoying my time on two wheels.
One along a forest trail in Algonquin Park, in Ontario, Canada. The other on a gravel back road along the north shore of Lake Erie, near Dunnville, Canada.#cycling #roadcycling #gravelcycling #mountainbike #MikeGposts

I love walking in a snowstorm. It feels so peaceful and quiet.
After I snapped the photo, I sat on this bench and enjoyed the feeling of total isolation. -
A little tip that I learned from @EllieK
Since everything I share and boost (re-share from others) shows up in my (your) timeline, I’ve taken to tagging each of my posts with the hashtag #MikeGposts, That way just things that I have shared can be displayed, eliminating the need to scroll past a bunch of other people’s content to find another gold nugget 🤣 that I have created. -
Altered perceptions.
Water as smooth as glass made an afternoon of paddling in Algonquin Provincial Park absolute heaven.#kayaking #OntarioParks #algonquinpark #Canada #phototoot #MikeGposts #landscape #photograhy #camping #paddling #nature #heaven

For #waterfallwednesday one that’s local in Hamilton, Canada.
This is Sherman Falls captured on a summer afternoon, from an angle that I’ve never seen before. Most people shoot it straight on, or even include a footbridge that is downstream.
I was lucky that there was a slight breeze that would move the trees to allow the sun to shine through for short periods, and knowing how to create a sun-star really made a difference (in my opinion).

A few summers back my son and I had the goods fortune to share an adventure together. 10 days driving the ring road around Iceland. We were amazed by the beauty.
One evening as we were heading to our accommodation we decided to capture this image with Vatnajökull and it’s glaciers in the background. The amazing thing about this shot is that it was captured at 21:50 and the sun was shining on us from the north. Really cool!#iceland #glacier #mountains #phototoot #landscape #MikeGposts

Sunset at Long Point Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada.
This old log caught my eye as we were strolling, enjoying the sunset, because it sort of looked like a dead sea monster washed up on the beach.#sunset #beach #photography #phototoot #ontario #canada #MikeGposts

Playing with fire.
It’s amazing what you can create with an old kitchen whisk, some steel wool and a 9-volt battery. (Just be sure not to set your surroundings on fire)#longexposure #reflection #photograph #phototoot #MikeGposts

Thinking back to that time in 2017 when the Icelandic Coast Guard gave us a free ride in this helicopter. We, along with a number of others, had to be rescued. Due to historic rains, HWY 1 (the only road) was washed out in both the east and west of our location near Hof. That vacation was definitely an adventure.

Summertime memories, for #throwbackthursday, of our long since departed Cooper playing keep away with his little sister Sandy, who is now the senior dog of the house.

Lower Glendale Falls in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada for #waterfallwednesday.
This jewel is hidden just metres from a road, and the Bruce Trail where it crosses through the city. If you decide to visit, be prepared to get muddy on your climb down the steep embankment to access it. -
Toronto, Canada on a cool summer’s night, captured from one of the islands in the harbour.

Finnegan, our 1-year old #miniaussie, is enjoying his new perch in our front bay window, where he can keep watch on the comings and going’s in the neighborhood.
Behind him are a couple of my wife’s stained glass creations that hang all around our house. If you are interested in #stainedglass you can see more of her #art on her website www.kathysglass.com #MikeGposts -
Kolufoss in northern Iceland.
From a trip in 2017 that was filled with “challenging” events. The country is so beautiful, and the people are very friendly. I’ve visited twice and would jump at the chance to go again if I could. -
