  1. Quick #fitness update.

    Down 63 lbs as of this morning. Currently sitting at 215 lbs down from 278. Still #strengthtraining 4-6 times a week. But I had a knee injury about 2 months ago which has preventing me from #running. So I’ve been substituting #cycling for my runs these last 2 months and I’ve been limiting my leg day strength work a bit.

    But, the knee is doing really well. I’ve been scaling my leg day workouts these last 2 weeks and plan to try a run later this week as well.

  11. Almost at my #BenchPress goal. Just hit a new 1 rep max PR! Definitely felt like an RPE 9.5 though.

    A few more cycles and maybe I'll be ready for the goal attempt. Not today though.

  13. Ended up doing a bunch of singles on my #OverheadPress today for fun. I was very pleasantly surprised to pull off my old 1RM again. It was tough, would definitely have called it an RPE 10, but that was after lots of shoulder spamming. So that's quite a pleasant surprise! #gym #mastolift #StrengthTraining

    This week I figured out how to record GoPro footage at a better resolution so it can actually be used in these! I also threw in some extra footage of random dog walks and driving around. Might be worth scrubbing through the video to see those bits if nothing else!

    I also realized there was a much better encoding option which makes the videos render faster and be a way lower file size. So that's great!

    I dropped the ball on closed captions. I'm sorry about that and it's still on my list to get going next time!

  17. In all my years (14ish) of using Garmin watches to record my workouts, I’ve never had one run out of battery on me mid workout. Kinda my fault though. It told me over a day ago it was low on battery.

    Well, if you ever wondered what happens to your workout in this situation. Apparently it gracefully saves the workout before turning itself off. So that’s cool. It managed to record 2.92 of my 3 mile run at least.

    Also got a lift in this morning. Pull day. Dumbbell biceps curls to failure, pull-ups and dumbbell flys among other fun stuff.

  21. New PR today! 225lbs/100kg #pushpress has finally fallen. I had plans to do a strict press 225lbs, but due to my shoulder issues earlier last year, I stalled out hard on that. Really happy with this though!

    Not on video - I pulled it off the rack a second time just to see if I had a second attempt in me. Barely walked it out after that lol. Oi. Long way to go to progress this further, but with the shoulder not being a clown anymore, I've got the ability to work on it now.

    Video, but this time I took the audio out to avoid the angry loud scaries!

    Push press: meh, mid.
    Inclined bench: kinda hard on the last set cause of a big jump in weight.
    Rotating and raising my arms with basically no weight for an average amount of sets to exercises the underdeveloped crap that's causing shoulder issues: can't lift arms for 30 minutes.

  27. Officially under 200 lbs for the first time since before COVID! I have lost a few inches on the waist as well. I can notice the belt getting tighter too.
    I will definitely be in shape by #DEFCON hell I may be in shape before spring at this rate. Let this be a lesson to everyone you can lose the weight if you discipline yourself and I’m not doing anything crazy. I even still eat out and get fast food on occasion, it’s all moderation. #exercise #fitness #weightlifting #mastolift #weightloss

  28. I’m losing more weight now at 10 lbs in about a month. Also lost a few inches but yoyojng on BMI and I see to go through spurts of growing and losing so I think that’s muscle building from my intense workout days.   29. Just finished todays workout, leg day, and cardio (power walk and jog). I’m definitely going to increase my active calorie goals to 700 calories in January after I increase my cardio capability as that’s my weak point. #fitness #exercise #mastolift #workout

I used a smart tape measure and a smart scale to get the stats for Apple Health. I’m working with my doctor’s to make sure I’m not overdoing it as much as I used to in college and high school. #fitness #exercise #mastolift

  31. Got a smart tape measure to better track my stats and BMI than a scale. Now all my data can be tracked by Apple Health and my doctor at least. I’ll still use the scale. I’m planning to try and grab an Apple Watch series 9 before they are pulled from shelves this weekend too

  35. @jeff yeah im trying to minimize carbs where I can even my protein powder has so little. I like Musclepharm as it tastes great and has five kinds of protein. Protein powder post workout, then these others intraworkout, and maybe a protein bar just before workout to get some slow energy started. So low carbs is important at the start but you want a little in the middle and after.

I’ll do upper body on the bowflex after the meeting with a quick cardio warmup. I am taking it easy after the 2 hour deep tissue massage yesterday to fix aches and pains from working out.

  37. So this is me at the start of my current fitness journey. I’m only about 2 weeks in, and as you can tell I was fit before I gained weight when gyms closed from COVID. All I need to do is lose fat around my core which is the only place I really have fat. But you can see it forming.
    My goal is to look like my grandfather on the right of this old picture. He was my trainer and my fitspiration for my health. He’s 94 now. I want to be fit by #DEFCON

  38. Time for a quick morning workout. I can’t do as much as I wanted because I am sore from the 2 hour deep tissue massage yesterday. But I am more limber again in the constant fit to be fit again. My pecs, arms, shoulders, and ass were so stiff from exercising we had to strip the muscles and definitely up there with my most intense massages ever.

    The tiny progress on banded pull-up is confirmed. From 5x4 to 5x5 👍. I should have done more reps for hanging knee raise and I should have used a stronger band for the fire hydrants.

    Again I'm underestimating my strength and it's quite new. Is this due to #creatine? I should have started taking it sooner 😍!

    I'm also re-learning how to walk following the podotrist advice. I've only walked 6 km today but slow and light. I usually stomp heavily like a soldier and that's partly what causes my frequent calf injury.
