  3. 🎉 So, some genius asked if #creatine is the new magic bean for brains, because clearly, spinach didn't get the job done. 🧠 Spoiler alert: it's just meat powder, not a steroid-spiked IQ boost. 🤦‍♂️ Maybe save the brain power for figuring out if aliens are secretly running your gym. 🛸🏋️‍♂️

  7. A mouse study and an in vitro study with human cells found that creatine supplementation enhanced the activity of dendritic cells, which use cancer tumor fragments to initiate activity of killer T cells. The creatine supported the energy needs of the dendritic cells that were competing with cancer cells, and in the mouse model suppressed cancer tumor growth.

  8. I forgot that I had also run out of vitamin E, so the day I took the creatine I only took one 100 IU capsule in the morning and nothing the next day. Usually I take a 100 IU capsule in the morning and another before bed. This is why I like to try a supplement several times (if it doesn't go really horribly wrong the first time) - there's always some other variable to consider.

Vitamin E (as alpha tocopherol) is correlated with reduced asthma risk and lower lung inflammation.

There seems to be a relationship between creatine and vitamin E, also - at least in the context of cystic fibrosis:

  9. RE: zeroes.ca/@Rhyothemis/11664260

I had been thinking about trying creatine again and reading about the myelin-brain energy metabolism story nudged me to actually do it. So yesterday I took 3g of creatine. I had tried it years ago, but I thought it increased my allergy symptoms. There was a study* that found that it increased symptoms in soccer players with allergic asthma, so it seems possible it could do that. However, I usually try supplements multiple times since there are so many things that could influence my reactivity.

I think I slept better than usual last night, though I was a bit groggy when I first woke up this morning.

Unfortunately, my esophagus was more reactive than normal this morning.

This is disappointing since my nephew says that taking creatine has reduced his migraine frequency.

I am taking collagen peptides, which contains a lot lof glycine. Glycine supplementation can boost endogenous creatine synthesis. Maybe that will work for me.

  10. A small (and, unfortunately, unbalanced) randomized controlled trial of the separate and combined effects of 16 weeks of resistance training and creatine in adults 65 and older found that training increased neurocognition, oxidative balance, inflammation, strength, and function. Creatine had a synergistic effect on all measures but cognition.

  12. Creatine is often seen as a muscle supplement—but the research goes much further than that.

There’s growing evidence around its role in brain energy, cognitive performance, and recovery.

We broke down what the science actually supports in 2026:

  13. I have started taking #creatine in the morning, either in my coffee or in orange juice. It supposedly helps with muscle recovery and even memory. Both of which I can use all the help I can get. It’s a tasteless powder that you mix with a drink. I wonder if or when I will notice anything? I am not very attuned to my body, so it’s hard for me to tell if this actually does anything. Anyone else out there trying creatine?

  14. Creatine is having a viral moment for mitigating sleep deprivation.

Our outcomes show that administering a high single dose of creatine can partially reverse metabolic alterations and fatigue-related cognitive deterioration.

    At 0.35 g creatine/kg body they found:

    Creatine significantly reduced fatigue

    and

The crucial factor appears to be the increased energy demand of the neuronal cells in combination with an increased extracellular creatine availability

This was a small but high quality study in 2024.

  15. I did a test recently, where I stopped taking my creatine monohydrate (no flavor, nothing added, 3-5g/day) and noted how I felt. Long story short - I felt like shit. Less energy, and it was harder to wake up again from any type of sleep.

So I got back into taking it and tadaa - I can wake from naps again WITHOUT an alarm. It feels like strange magic. (:

Hands down the best thing I have done. No idea why it works in reducing sleep inertia, but damn am i happy it does.

  17. Creatine: More than Strength and Size 💊⏫

Muscle gain isn’t built by one perfect set, it’s built by weeks of high-quality training you can repeat consistently.

Creatine helps you do that in a few big ways

💨 Faster repeat efforts (more quality reps per workout)

📈 Better training density and volume tolerance

    🧬 Cell hydration and a “growth-friendly” environment

🧘‍♂️ Recovery support and resilience (especially during hard phases)
