Today I checked out a new Asian supermarket, and I surprised myself by reading and understanding some Korean :neofox_owo:

There was 소불고기 양념, where I read the English translation ("bulgogi sauce") before I looked at the Korean, but I could immediately figure out that it's specifically beef bulgogi, which wasn't mentioned. And next to it was 떡볶이 양념, which I quickly recognised as tteokbokki ("sauce") :neofox_happy:

Korean Language Question

I'm just learning to sound out words with Korean letters, so I still know very little. I have a question about names and the use of the English letter "L": I was looking at the Korean for the hip hop artist Lee Young Ji, and I realised it's 이영지. But I thought "이" was pronounced "Yi". Is this one of those instances where the pronunciation is somewhere in between, so it could (theoretically) be romanised either way?
