Ah. I knew it was going too well. The disk drive eject gear picked this moment to explode into tiny plastic shards.

I figured this was always an eventuality... I know they're brittle as heck, but it sure as hell picked a time to do it.

Oh well... I ordered some new gears, and I'm gonna swap the eject mechanism from one of my 800k drives in the mean time.
