  1. This walk of just over five miles on #Anglesey is a mixture of great coastal scenery and interesting industrial remains and the unusual St. Patrick’s Church at Llanbadrig. The walk runs from Cemaes Bay to Porth Wen. See happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Angle

  2. A #witch who lived in the #Neolithic burial chamber at Lligwy, #Anglesey, was wrongly blamed for a series of storms and angry fishermen threw her into the sea. But a young man dived in and saved her. In gratitude, she gave him a charm which brought him good luck all his life #WyrdWednesday #folklore

  3. We're going to #anglesey for a few days, leaving tomorrow. Staying near Brynsiencyn. I'm quite excited. Anything we should definitely see/do while we're there?

  4. Rhoscolyn this lunchtime. Lovely day, nice breeze. Always great examples of regional metamorphism, both in the New Harbour turbidites and the psammite.

Do help my understanding if needed - I am but an enthusiastic learner!

  6. The latest Council Tax bill just dropped through the letterboxes of countless people across Anglesey today.

The cost? £2227 for the year. £42 per week. For a rabbit hutch bungalow.

A fundamentally regressive tax that no party ever wants to make fairer.

Introduction The historic counties of England, Scotland, and Wales have been of cultural significance as each county has determined the heritage of the people of the region and the descending diaspora related to every county. While Ireland and the Isle of Man also play large roles, along with Jersey and Guernsey, the primary settlements on Great Britain have also been of significance regarding the situation of a generally Celtic region. 17. [🧵 2/3] More of South Stack's wonderful #wildflowers (and a bonus #insect) photographed at the beginning of this month in the company of my brother @rob_camera.

Clockwise from top left: Sea #Campion (a.k.a Dead Man's Bells, Witches Thimbles or Devil's Hatties!), Common #Centaury, English #Stonecrop, and Sheep's-bit with a Potter #Wasp (Ancistrocerus sp.).

  18. ⚠️🌬️ #StormAmy is arriving now in the west. Expect strong winds (50mph+) across the region this afternoon and all day tomorrow, but especially around Northern and Western areas like #Anglesey, #Gwynedd and #LlynPeninsula (60-70mph). Expect heavy rain also.

  19. 🌬️#MetOffice have issued a Yellow Warning for Wind, 8am-10pm Sat, for #Anglesey, #Conwy, #Denbighshire, #Flintshire and #Gwynedd. A deep area of low pressure, will bring a spell of very windy weather to parts of western #Wales this weekend. Gusts of 50 mph are expected quite widely on Saturday, while some exposed spots, particularly on the coast, will see 60 to 70 mph gusts with large waves also likely.

  20. If you are in #Anglesey over the holiday period, this is a superb walk to Holyhead Mountain, the highest point. Although relatively low at 772ft, it has a real sense of summit, with fantastic views inland over Holyhead, along the coast and out to sea. See happyhiker.co.uk/MyWalks/Angle

  21. Visited Ludlow's St Peter's church last week, built by the same architect, Giuseppe Rinvolucri, who designed Amlwch's Our Lady Star of the Sea church. Both amazing works of 20th C architecture. Read about the Anglesey church at anglesey-history.co.uk/places/
