  1. An excellent excursion yesterday with the Anglesey Antiquarian Society & Field Club, walking Lon Las Cefni from Llangefni to Pentre Berw. We learned about the history and land use of the valley, the lime kilns and the Pentre Berw colliery.

  2. Wonderful day on #YnysMôn. Beaumaris was lovely, bread from Dillons on Porthaethwy high street is scrummy and the Choughs put on a fine display at South Stack on Holy Island.

I'm looking at a day down at #Harlech castle then maybe out towards Pwllheli. Any suggestions of nice things to do (in the rain maybe) will be appreciated.

  3. Ydych chi wedi clywed am Gymdeithas Hynafiaethwyr Môn? Wedi'i sefydlu ym 1911, dyma'r prif grŵp hanesyddol a chynhanesyddol ar Ynys Môn. Mae ein haelodau’n mwynhau rhaglen o deithiau cerdded tywysedig yn ystod yr haf a sgyrsiau gyda’r nos yn ystod y gaeaf. Cyhoeddir cylchlythyr ddwywaith y flwyddyn ac mae’r Trafodion uchel ei barch, sy’n llawn ymchwil newydd ar hanes yr ynys, wedi’i gyhoeddi bob blwyddyn ers 1913.

  4. Only 3 days to go until me and the ever fabulous @druid venture 200 miles in a north-westerly direction to our holiday #hideaway on #YnysMôn for 2 whole & well deserved weeks.

So, expect #spectacular views of #glorious #landscapes, moody #seascapes & all sorts of #random stuff.

And one or two of us truly.😁

We shall be visiting #Cadw #castles, #NationalTrust #gardens, #plant #nurseries and hundreds of cafés and chip shops.

  5. Want to explore the historic mills of Anglesey? I've just updated my Google Map of Anglesey Windmills, adding corn watermills, fulling and woollen mills, tidal mills and industrial/farming mills. You can see the list of mills at anglesey-history.co.uk/other-m and the map of them at google.com/maps/d/viewer?mid=1

  6. A curious postcard spotted on eBay, celebrating National Baby Week 1918. Events were held during WWI to highlight infant mortality. Read more about it at:
    ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/
This says that in 1915 nine soldiers had died every hour at the front, while 12 babies died at home.
