ModCon 2026 Trailer has landed on YouTube. A weekend of online community events and showcases of mods for Paradox Games. With any money raised going to charity.
After missing last year, I've made the commitment to do a new 3min promo for my mod #NewDarkAge - I might have bitten off more than I can chew; have a shortage of quality game footage, and my voice isn't really strong enough for doing voice-overs.

After nearly 1000 days on Steam Workshop, my #Victoria3 mod, 'New Dark Age', has finally reached enough votes to get a rating. It's managed to get 4 stars, so the handful of players playing must like it a bit.
I don't think we'd get much boost from the rating in terms of players - it's always going to be a niche audience playing.
I think I would have preferred actual feedback on the Mod rather than votes; I'd rather have some info from the players on how it plays so that I can improve it.

I continue to exist, and have managed to do the one thing I absolutely have to do on a Monday -- hair washed. Extra important this week, as I need to pass as human tomorrow, ha ha.
For now, just curled up with games. I was trying my hand at Europa Universalis IV, immediately got confused, and brought up Victoria 3 instead. Which I'm still not great at, but at least I kind of know what I'm doing. Kind of. I should probably try a wider range of countries, rather than repeatedly defaulting to the US and UK. *laughs*

#Victoria3 is hard because every country has a conservative faction — either authoritarian, racist, theocratic, or landowning — that constantly works to stop you doing anything that helps your people, your economy, or improving society somewhat.
Even if you have a nice and bloody revolution, a few years later they spring up again, opposing everything good, trying to drag you back to a worse form of society.
I think about this a lot.
