#Blender3D version 5.2 brings some excellent functionality to the #BlenderCompositor. I think I will be leaning into this and the #BlenderVideoEditor and move beyond #Kdenlive and any feelings that I should be using #DaVinciResolve (which looks amazing, but there's no free #H264 support on #linux).

Another thing that broke through my sudden move over to Linux is my OBS files can't be used due to the Audio Codec used.
I'm attempted to use HandBrake to sort out my various audio tracks to a usable codec for Davinci Resolve in Linux. God I hate when codecs don't work. Gonna have to double check my Camera for my motorbike as well.

Die letzten Wochen bin ich tatsächlich in Sachen Videoschnitt mit Kdenlive und Grafik-Design mit Inkscape, etc. wieder am Zweifeln angekommen. Manche Dinge verlangsamen den Workflow enorm. Insbesonders wenn man von der Affinity-Suite und DaVinci Resolve kommt.
Dennoch möchte ich den Wechsel von Windows zu Linux nicht rückgängig machen.

It's been two years since I started using it to edit #GoPro videos for my hobby #YouTube channel https://youtube.com/@outdoorsyindians. Even on an old #Linux laptop with no #GPUs, I can edit my videos using proxy clips and export them at #4K resolution.

If you film videos of any kind on #GrapheneOS may I wholeheartedly recommend the "Blackmagic Camera" app, which can be found on the #AuroraStore. It's produced by the same folks who make #DaVinciResolve.
It might just be a me problem, but the GrapheneOS camera app (which works really nicely for point and shoot photography) goes a bit glitchy and out of sync with audio when I film stuff, I think because it's variable framerate, and my editing software likes it locked.

After some years of using #Lightworks for professional #video, I'm trying to learn #DaVinciResolve now.
Feeling like a complete idiot. I just want to align audio from my recorder with the video and cut the ends. I know none of the keyboard shortcuts and nothing is obvious. I know what I want to do, but I don't know where the menu items are. (ChatGPT doesn't know either, btw. – funny they try to charge money for it.)
I love Lightworks. Yet it has a nasty OpenGL bug that apparently only shows on my #UbuntuStudio #Linux machine and I have tried to communicate with developers for 1.5 years or so about this. I simply can't work with it any more. They apparently don't care.
I even own a Lightworks keyboard. Sad situation. I'm not ready for the change. It could be so easy…
