"Daddy Sang Bass" is a song written by #CarlPerkins, with lines from the chorus of "#WillTheCircleBeUnbroken" and recorded by American #countryMusic singer #JohnnyCash. It was released in November 1968 as the first single from the album #TheHolyLand. The song was Cash's sixty-first release on the country chart, going on to No. 1 on the #Billboard country chart for 6 weeks and spending a total of 19 weeks there.

"Matchbox" is a song written and recorded by #CarlPerkins and released in 1957. #BlindLemonJefferson wrote and recorded a song entitled "Match Box Blues" in 1927, which is musically different but which contains some lyric phrases in common. "Matchbox" was recorded as a #rockabilly song by Carl Perkins in December 1956 and by fellow #SunRecords performer, #JerryLeeLewis – who played piano on the original track – in 1958. #SamPhillips.
