Yoo... brought more stamps.

£12 for a secondhand album with 16 pages (most of which full)... and a pile of stamps which has a fair few I'm very interested in adding to one of my existing collections.

The pile has a stamp from a series from Nazi Germany that I am mid way through collecting and a few UK derivatives of series from the 70s.

Not an expression of republican sentiment - but a pen cancellation of a #postage #stamp by #RoyalMail #Chelmsford - maybe because the sender used an odd shaped envelope - it is from one of our service users who pays by cheque, they tend to be seniors who still use notepaper and writing cases!

When I worked at RM there were hand stamps for this if the sorting machine didn't auto cancel the stamps. but they have likely been abandoned to save time and costs post privatisation, and RM don't want the stamp being reused, especially at £1.80 a time!

In the USA, the USPS is raising rates effective July 12.

This week and next week would be good times to stock up on Forever stamps.

Here's one for my #Philately / #StampCollecting friends! My good friend Jack sent me a postcard from his travels, and on it, he included this interesting triangle stamp. As he noted to me, "I wanted to send you one of these new triangle postage stamps. It's the first time USPS have issued a triangle stamp in 30 years!".

And searching a bit further, this is a "Global postcrossing forever" stamp, which means it is an international postcard rate and you can use one of these stamps to send a postcard anywhere in the world. I started collecting stamps late last year and now I have a lot of doubles and ones I don't really have any interest in.

Buying #stamps is fine but getting into trading with folk and a joining a community as a beginner would be pretty neat.

My grandma (who gifted me her album she had as a kid) told me she use to have penpals she traded stamps with. And I'm kinda excited to find a similar folk.

Found a neat #stamp today in a pack of a hundred or so 19th and 20th century #stamps.

This stamp comes from the Pitcairn Islands which has a current population of 35 people.

Apparently most of there external income comes from selling postage stamps which I just find funny af.

So I think Belgium during ww2 was only partially occupied during ww2. I definitely need to look into ww2 more.

There are Nazi occupation stamps and actual beigium government stamps of that time.

The first stamp with the "SS" symbol on it is from the Nazi occupation and the second pic show other stamps from Belgium during the same year which just look like normal stamps of that country and era.

Brought more stamps!!!

I hate postage. Because the 5 lots of stamps (from the same seller) cost just over £8 but the postage and the new ""buyer protection"" (which just sounds like BS) bumps it up to like £14.

To deliver an envelope of stamps to my door is £4 (wtf!?!)
