  12. 1/1/1953 - Hank Williams died in the back of a car driven by Charles Carr en route to a concert in Canton, OH. At around midnight on 1/1/1953, when the 2 crossed the Tennessee state line and arrived in Bristol, Virginia, Carr stopped at a small all-night restaurant & asked Williams if he wanted to eat. Williams said he did not, & those are believed to be his last words. Carr later drove on until he stopped for fuel at a gas station in Oak Hill, West Virginia, where he realized that Williams had been dead for so long that rigor mortis had already set in. The station's owner called the local police chief. In Williams' Cadillac, the police found some empty beer cans & unfinished handwritten lyrics. Dr. Ivan Malinin performed the autopsy at the Tyree Funeral House. He found hemorrhages in the heart & neck and pronounced the cause of death as "insufficiency of the right ventricle of the heart". He also wrote that Williams had been severely beaten & kicked in the groin recently (during a fight in a Montgomery bar a few days earlier), & local magistrate Virgil F. Lyons ordered an inquest into Williams' death concerning a welt that was visible on his head. That evening, when the announcer in Canton announced Williams' death to the gathered crowd, they started laughing because they thought it was just another excuse.

  20. Country Music Day🤠

    International Country Music Day

    🎤 Curiosità in salsa country

It's a short one for a change, but sometimes those are the best.

Might as well call it CBGB because it's nothing but country, bluegrass, and various shades of blues.

  22. Lucinda Williams, Ramblin’ On My Mind, 1979 on Folkways

Attributed to “Lucinda” mono-nymically, this was Williams’ debut solo album, released in 1979 on Folkways (which became Smithsonian Folkways in 1987).

She’s accompanied by  John Grimaudo on 6-string guitar (she plays 12-string and sings), and the album was produced by Tom Royals, an attorney for whom this is the only producing credit – he was a friend of her father. It was recorded at Malaco Studios in Jackson, Mississippi.

It’s a collection of blues, folk, and country covers, some traditional and some by named artists: Robert Johnson, A.P. Carter, Memphis Minnie, Sleepy John Estes, Hammie Nixon, Hank Williams, Roy Acuff, Joe Hayes and Jack Rhodes.

My copy is a 2021 reissue, but I’m not sure where I got it from.

  23. Hi!
Perhaps a Re-#Introduction is in order since there's so many more people in this space to share stories and insights with.

I'm an #Alchemist. I manipulate symbols and materials to effect #transformations and thus transform myself.
My practice was revealed to me in a series of trances by an ancient #goddess who has many historical forms. Some of these are the #Kemetic goddesses known as the Eyes of Ra. She recently revealed to me that she would like me to refer to her as #Hathor. I'm not second guessing that advice.

I'm a cis het old guy (58) happy married for 25 years. I adore women. Mostly from afar.

Race- white, blue eyed ethnic jew.

My technique is centered on an apparatus I built based on a design the goddess revealed. I later connected the components and operation symbolically to equipment and processes described in classic #Alchemy sources.
I'm a non-traditional Alchemist. I don't use a forge or do metallurgy. My device is electrical and uses a type of #crystal to focus energy. It can roughly be described as a type of lamp. The picture shows the output of my process. It's called a #Violograph.

It is commonly asserted, and I agree, that the coveted philosopher's stone refers to the practitioners themselves. As the goal of the process it is in reality the transformed person.
This is done by separating the spirit and soul from the #body, changing them and then re-uniting them in the body again. Carl #Jung has some interesting ideas on this.

Politically- #anarchosyndicalist and card carrying #Wobbly. I’ve been working at the same factory for 28 years.
