I am finally back to Solus Linux. CachyOS is nice, but in many points it's beyond my daily needs for the ThinkPad E16. Solus is much smoother and I still prefer Budgie Desktop in comparison to KDE Plasma.
Some things I still have to figure out. But I am back at 90% thanks to a simple backup-strategy realized with my Synology NAS using Synology Drive Client. #linux #distro #solus #budgie -

Das sehe ich nicht so Stephan, ich nutze seit der Version Maya (2012) gerne Linux Mint. Habe #fedora, #ubuntu, #budgie, #suse, #manjaro, #debian #zorin, #tails, #solus, #tuxedoos ausführlich im Betrieb gehabt.
Bin aber jetzt endgültig bei #linuxmint lmde :linuxmint: , also die Debian-Version geblieben.
Es ist eine ausgereifte Distribution, wo alles am besten zusammenpasst.👍
Also meine klare Empfehlung für Anfänger und fortgeschrittene 🏅

Ich bin seit ca. 10-12 Jahren immer wieder mir #xfce unterwegs. Ich mag es einfach und modular. Und den Rest hab ich mir mit scripten und #plank als zusätzliche Taskleiste zurecht gebaut.
Ja, irgendwie wollte ich doch was neues versuchen. Und hab mal #budgie #mate #lxde probiert.
Alles nicht so mein Ding. Aber he, da fiel mir ein, dass mein Weg zu #arch über #cinnarch kam. Das was scheinbar 2013...
#endeavourOS ist ein indirekter Nachfolger von Cinnarch.

Report on installing F44 on MacBook Air 2015 4GB
- Install was smooth
- After installing I began using Firefox as usual with 3 tabs open and a couple small apps open. Same usage as always.
- Firefox crashed, repeatedly
- The Firefox was running out of memory.- Installed Fedora Budgie Spin, gaining about 600MB of available memory
- Install was smooth
- Fixed up the look of the desktop which was easy but took awhile.
- Installed wifi drivers, opened the firewall for LocalSend
- Found a way to change the desktop background which doesn’t work from the Budgie Control Center.

- You enter the command and just drop an image into the Konsole window
- Everything is fine now. No this is not my daily driver. -
Argh, too many things require rt-click, and this #MacBook won’t do it when I need.
In #Budgie, trying to pin program to dock. Supposed to rt-click and pin it when it is open. Ctrl-click is supposed to simulate rt-click, but it doesn’t. Look for solutions. mouseemu is supposed to help, but cannot find it. Finally find on a parallels forum that you can use two finger tap to trigger a right click. Well, shoot if it can tell a two-finger tap, why can’t it tell a tap in the lower right. 🫠

And to my surprise, the Ubuntu Budgie desktop looks very close like Elementary OS Pantheon desktop.
