  1. I really, really hope Budgie 11 doesn't have any reliance on systemd.

Requiring systemd makes it a non-starter on non-systemd-aligned versions of Linux and the BSD's.

  5. I'm looking forward to trying out version 11 of the Budgie Desktop (w/ qt6 and kde frameworks base / integration).

My hope is that it is lighter than Plasma and works well on smaller, memory constrained devices. Depending, may use it more broadly. Always kind of dug the minimalism.

  9. You know, I use Gnome today, with a bunch of Extensions.

But when Budgie 11 launches, I'm jumping ship, on the condition that their config does not mix hardware state with system settings, like XFCE does.

(Things like screen resolution should be in it's own file)

  25. Happy 17th of #DecemBird!

One of innumerable examples of the casual speciesism we're all surrounded by. I wonder where people's line is on this. Chickens and turkeys are OK, but how about a dove? or a crow? maybe a pigeon?

We're posting every day this month on the theme of "DecemBird"; i.e. all things bird related. See the YourVeganFallacyIs.com site for more vegan-related fallacies.
