Letting sleeping dugs lie. Over in Cumbria visiting the OAPs for the weekly ‘do a job’ we have just comeback from our morning run. The kitchen is not large, but… And the collie insists on getting into the middle. The old ‘ever hot’ stove has been off for months! I get an appalled ‘wot me look’ if I ask him to move, so better leave him until parents get up. If he moves the old terrier will just get in his place.

I was so disappointed, I thought it might be a tale of warring gangs of dugs, the notorious ‘Westies’ and the ‘Think they are ard’ Doberman Gang. It turns out to be an indifferent ‘we’ve seen it all before’ US Irish/Italian crime mashup. Better luck in future.

A lunchtime walk with Chai and the neighbours hounds to the river - The only possible destination at the moment.
Luckily I packed a bin bag - for as fking usual people have left rubbish on the small beach - and still they will expect to return and find it pristine 😖🤬

Nach nervenaufreibenden Tagen ist heute früh weißer Rauch aufgestiegen: Leo wird hier einziehen. Himmel, was für ein anstrengender Reflexionsprozess. Das #Kind (9) hat tatsächlich drei ganze Tage gebraucht, um sich klar zu werden. @tiassi und ich schwankten ständig. Gestern früh wollte er absagen, da hielt ich ihn noch zurück, weil ich spürte, dass die Sache im Kind noch nicht fertig war.
Also demnächst hier ab und an #Bordercollie Content.

3 years ago and Síle thought this would demonstrate to the collie how safe the wobbly bridge was. It took him months to recover 🤣 full confidence back , but I have never shown him that famous footage of the Tacoma bridge going into oscillation.
He now crosses it without any hesitation at least once a week.

We have had just enough rain to make everything pretty around here though a blonde moment for me left me as colorful as some of my feathered friends The arm didn't break at 70 that is good news. So much drama I swear. This large snapping turtle had come up from the river as she has for many many years only to get nosy and probably ticked off to see the flowers and lawn much further along in her nesting area and she fell off the retaining wall. Desperation
Breakfast time in the old kitchen being renovated and I get a pleading look from the Collie as the Tabby muscles in. Have you ever seen such desperation. And this is the cat who@positively loves him!
The cat had already been fed, but likes a bohemian diet…. I bribed the cat to leave him alone.

Morning walk
A deer morning rather than rabbits, hares or pheasants. The lLab kept giving me surreptitious glances wondering whether he could make a break for it and chase, but a sever ‘do that and you are on your lead for the next 5k persuaded him to go on snuffling in the undergrowth. The collie will never chase anything other than another dog unless instructed to.
