[Decentralized, federated platform for dog owners]

I haven’t been able to get this idea out of my head for a while now. 😩😁

Why are there centralized platforms for dog owners—but no open, decentralized alternative? 🤔

What if clubs, animal shelters, dog training schools, or local communities could run their own instances while still being interconnected, based on ActivityPub, similar to the Fediverse? 😃

Possible features could include:
🐶 Dog profiles
🚶 Walks & meetups
📍 Dog parks & local spots
⚠️ Poisoned bait and hazard alerts
🔎 Missing & found dogs

The focus would be on data sovereignty, local communities, and open standards instead of a centralized platform. 😉

Attached is a preliminary concept diagram to make the idea more tangible.

Seit einer Weile lässt mich diese Idee nicht mehr los. 😩😁

Warum gibt es zwar zentrale Plattformen für Hundemenschen – aber keine offene, dezentrale Alternative? 🤔

Was wäre, wenn Vereine, Tierheime, Hundeschulen oder lokale Communities ihre eigene Instanz betreiben könnten und trotzdem miteinander vernetzt wären, auf Basis von ActivityPub, ähnlich wie das Fediverse? 😃

Denkbar wären u.a.:
🐶 Hundeprofile
🚶 Spaziergänge & Treffen
📍 Hundewiesen & lokale Orte
⚠️ Giftköder- und Gefahrenmeldungen
🔎 Vermisste & gefundene Hunde

Der Fokus läge auf Datensouveränität, lokalen Gemeinschaften und offenen Standards statt einer zentralen Plattform. 😉

Anyone's Pomsky have pretty intense separation anxiety? I'm not really sure how to help her not freak out when I take a shower. She spent 15 minutes howling and barking and panicking to find me. She wasn't alone, she was with my husband and daughter.
