"Tex Rides With the Boy Scouts." Not, I suggest, something we'd call a film today.
The poster says the movie also has "The White Flash" which I hope is the name of his horse and not something Tex does to entertain the Scouts

Tonight's movie was Ready or Not: Here I Come (2026).
I didn't think the first movie reached the full potential of its premise -- a satire about incredibly rich evil Satan worshipers that should explode into bloody clouds of fleshy bits. This sequel reaches that full potential!
I loved seeing Weaving and Newton together, they work well as sisters. Elijah Wood was fun to watch.
Ready or Not: Here I Come is a super enjoyable horror comedy.

Previously on Midlife Crisis Crossover: Since 1992 my hometown of Indianapolis has presented the Heartland International Film Festival, a multi-day, multi-theater celebration of cinema held every October. Local moviegoers have the opportunity to see over a hundred new works in the realms of documentaries, narrative features, shorts, and animation made across multiple continents from myriad points of the human experience. Heartland’s 35th edition runs October 7-18 and will be my fourth time diving in. I’ve made plans to catch at least six films in all, maybe more if time permits... Next up: the British late-stage biopic Elsinore, which premiered last month at the Telluride Film Festival. Not just the next entry in the Hamlet Cinematic Universe after last year's Hamnet, it's a tour de force for actor Andrew Scott, who doesn't merely breathe new life into the Bard -- he pays tribute to another actor who breathed new life into the Bard before he in turn breathed his last. Just finished Buddy (2026), which is basically, if all the iconic kids shows and characters from television (but especially the 90s) existed on the Backrooms Continuum.
Genius, I think, and like the Backrooms, it cuts deep through a cultural terror that we are living through, subconsciously.
You are left with more questions than answers, but the real story is the friends you made along the way... and what happened to them. Patton Oswalt as Strappy is a delightful touch.
