I them made my way to Palermo and met up with Frank and Tom who I hadn’t seen in about 14 years I think. It was such a nice catch up. Then Frank invited me to dinner with his daughter and we had a lovely vegetarian dinner. And after that, another ice cream. This was incredible. I got Sambayon-Santi’s favorite flavor. I got home just before midnight and didn’t get out of bed until 8:30. #Day24 #365happydays2023 #BuenosAires #Argentina #Trabajo #amigos #walking #photography #postphotos /end

Arrived in Buenos Aires safely and soundly. Received a very warm welcome from Hernan including facturas on the patio and a wonderful dinner “uña bodegón bien del barrio” for dinner with Guada. Absolutely perfect. #Day22 #365happydays2023 #BuenosAires #Argentina #Amigos #Comida #Asado #Facturas #photography

Another run/walk together around MaximaPark before lunch. Once again it was bitter cold with only intermittent sun. I can’t believe I leave for the hot Argentine summer in two days. So glad to spend a bit of time together while we can as the hours are slipping by. #Day19 #365happydays2023 #couchto5k #day2week2 #running #jogging #walking #selfie #couplesgoals #ibelieveintheblerch #photography

Ten years on and we can still do it! No longer running on the summer beaches of Uruguay or the pavement of Buenos Aires, but it is great to run together again. Okay, so it was more like jogging but still! It was bitter cold but sunny so we got in our Vit D and exercise at the same time. /1 #Day17 #365happydays2023 #couchto5k #day1week2 #running #jogging #walking #selfie #couplesgoals #ibelieveintheblerch #photography #postphotos

Went for a walk around the Oudegracht while D was having Spanish class. I did not want to, & of course I felt better once I was actually going, but ugh. Motivation is hard. I took quite a few photos along the way & I really like this one for some reason. Not sure what the custom of putting them on the wall in front of your house is all about, but I saw three houses on one street with pairs hung up like this. #Day09 #365happydays2023 #walking #wandeling #clogs #klompen #utrecht #photography

We want to keep up with the long walks we did in Barcelona, so we went for a family walk this morning and were happily joined by our friend Myriam. We did a lap through the park while the boys spent time at the playground and then we walked back home together. It was cold but it was sunny, so calling that a win. #Day08 #365happydays2023 #walking #wandeling #nature #park #photography

They have forgiven us our trespasses for leaving them for 10 days. Thank goodness. Sylvester is always more cuddly than Pica. We are all glad to be back home. #Day07 #365happydays2023 #caturday #photography #catsofmastodon

We broke our fast with a “Rosca de Reyes” and there was a little figurine of a king and also a fava bean inside. David got the king and luckily was already wearing the crown. It was a wonderful last day in Barcelona with lots of walking around the neighborhood and one last afternoon at the beach. #Day06 #365happydays2023 #reyesmagos #roscadereyes #epiphany #argentinosporelmundo #photography

Walking through the narrow cold streets of old-town Girona in the late morning before our speed train trip back to Barcelona. It was a lovely 24 hours catching up with our friends and the kids had a blast. I was surprised by how cold it was walking along the narrow streets, but the buildings were almost all around three stories tall and the streets were mostly just wide enough for a horse and buggy - maybe. #Day05 #365happydays2023 #childhood #friendship #argentinosporelmundo #photography /1

We are in a village near the Pyrenees in Eastern Spain visiting friends from Buenos Aires. Kristie & I were pregnant together with Joaquin & David. So seven years later the boys meet up once again. Their family has grown & it was lovely to see and meet the rest of the children. The afternoon was spent at the skate park & I was amazed how little fear David had on the scooter. So much fun and we drank some mates. #Day04 #365happydays2023 #childhood #friendship #argentinosporelmundo #photography

I learned something new today. This plant is what my husband’s family’s name is derived from. It is now Borrazás, but in Catalán it is Borratja. In English it is the plant “Borage” and my mother planted it all over in the back garden in Bolinas at the farm where I grew up. Somehow it makes me feel more connected to my husband and his family even though we didn’t know each other until I was in my late 30s. #Day03 #365happydays2023 #garden #history #genealogy #plants #herbs #witchery #photgraphy

Barcelona reminds me so very much of Buenos Aires in so many ways. There are stark differences of course, but the architecture in the neighborhood we are staying at is so very similar to the older buildings in San Telmo (my old neighborhood) it fills me with nostalgia and a longing. I am not Argentine, but Argentina shaped me and is in my soul and forever will be at a cellular level. #Day01 #365happydays2023 #architecture #balconies #photography
