There is progress in the field of mechanical science, progress with regard to machines, cars, modern conveniences, and the conquering of space. But I am not referring to that kind of progress, because progress in mechanical science must ever be transient; in that, there can never be fulfilment for man. There can be no fulfilment for man in mechanical progress. There will be better cars, better aeroplanes, better machines, but fulfilment is not to be realised through this continual process of mechanical perfection – not that I am against machines. When we speak of progress, as applied to what we call individual growth, what do we mean? We mean the acquiring of more knowledge, greater virtue, which is not fulfilment.

The bottle in drawer 16 is a very familiar one: Oban 14, matured in ex-bourbon and bottled at 43% ABV. I gave all of my groomsmen flasks filled with this whisky when I got married 31 years ago, and Oban was the first distillery I ever visited when my wife & I made our first trip to Scotland 27-ish years ago, since it was literally across the street from our hotel in Oban.

My #Day16 actually WAS a #Blunder! I tried to do too much. It wasn’t one joke, but 3 in a trench coat.
Drafting the different parts of the scene separately and bringing them together, i failed to integrate them well in either composition or style.
But on #Day14 + #Day18 I WAS able to coordinate multiple designs within a composition successfully.
One difference was these had a clear format & hierarchy: Tarot Cards in a spread & Travel Stickers on a suitcase.

Digital Data Storage (DDS) was tremendously popular for backup in the 1990s. Based on the audio tape format DAT, a new DDS version came out approx every 3 yrs w limited backwards compatibility. DAT72 aka DDS-5 was released in 2003 & had a capacity of 72GB compressed (2:1).It was the last DDS 3.81mm tape, followed by 8mm DAT-160 in 2003.
My specimen is one of the typical problem cases where the tape turned almost transparent after far fewer than 50 clean cycles.
