Day 17 of the #30DayChartChallenge: Remake 📊
🛠️ A remake of a remake! This is a remake of a chart I originally made with #RStats a few years ago then remade with #Python for the Plotnine contest, and remade again today - this time using LibreOffice Calc!
(Originally started the remake with Excel but it was actually easier in LibreOffice in case you needed another reason to switch to LibreOffice)

Man has made progress from the bow and arrow to the atom bomb, from the bullock cart to the jet plane that travels at 1,600 miles per hour. That is generally called progress. But is there progress in any other direction, inwardly? Have you, as an individual, progressed inwardly? Have you found anything for yourself? We know what other people have said and what they say they have found, but have we found anything for ourselves? Are we more charitable, more kind? Are our minds more expansive and alert, inwardly? Have we put away fear? Without that, to make progress in the world, is to destroy ourselves.

Quick photo of day 17's dram, Chivas' Royal Salute 21-year-old blended Scotch whisky at 40% ABV. Honey and oak on the nose; orange, spices, and more oak on the palate; slightly tannic finish with maybe just a hint of smoke. Looking at the bottle cost, not really enough bang for the buck, as it were.

When I decided to visualise the same dataset on income inequality for all 30 prompts of the #30DayChartChallenge, I wasn't sure how I'd manage to make the prompt of "Birds" fit with that data... 🐦 But I managed to shoehorn some data about birds in there!
The result? A "correlation is not causation" / "dual axes are bad" plot in the style of Spurious Correlations made with #RStats!

2️⃣ Color por Orden: Los puntos coloreados muestran la diversidad taxonómica (12 órdenes principales). Passeriformes por todas partes!Una visualización "complicada" (Día 15 😉) que revela la interacción entre tamaño, forma del ala, linaje evolutivo y ambiente.

„If you want to walk fast go alone, if you want to walk far go together“ could’ve been a motto of LTO, a tape format developed jointly by HP, IBM & Seagate and released in 2000. Since then, the storage capacity of LTOs has grown from 200GB to 45TB compressed with LTO9. While the physical size has remained the same, LTOs are only compatible with the last two previous generations.
My specimen is a 2005 HP LTO3 meaning it can be read with a drive <= LTO5 (2010-2012)

Jang Ki-Yong is the actor who surprised me the most this year. I didn't think he could pull a role like the one in #TheAtypicalFamily
He had always played the alpha male before. Strong, confident and powerful. In that drama he becomes a mess of a man. An alcoholic negligent father, emotionally unavailable and rude to every other human being. -
