If you are in New York City by Nov. 8th, you should try to catch Elf Lyons' one-woman show "Woman on the Verge," a very funny, heart-breaking show about her fiancé dumping her via What's App, and Apollo 13 and Pagliacci and bouncy castles and ... a lot of stuff.
It's at the Soho Playhouse, already extended, and back to London in January. I saw it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it was a massive hit, and it deserves every bit of praise.

People not already working in the entertainment world and eager to get a piece of the profit pie. This is coming from Fox, albeit the right wing news entertainment version of Fox and not The Simpsons-and-FX version owned by Disney. Fox Nation is a streaming service providing curated content for Fox News super fans. AI slop appearing there, a small service with limited content, makes the slop feel even more sloppy. Watching the doc, I could practically hear a cigar-chomping executive shouting “slop em up, boys.” Bringing Harry Houdini back from the dead could be a portent for the future of documentaries.

Morning is off to a kind of crappy start. The pain in my finger in hand is pretty bad; I've got three ibuprofen in me now to fight back. Feeling exhausted after yesterday, but I'll definitely get the truck emptied out and put away somewhere in the garage. I think my big project today is going to be making a dolly for my dinghy so I can roll it around the garage as needed this winter. I'll need help from my neighbor to get it and its motor out of the back of my truck.
Feeling better this morning than yesterday, at least as far as the blahs go. (Finger/hand still hurts.🙄) Today's goals are really yesterday's: build a dolly for my dinghy, empty my truck, and squeeze my truck into the garage. I'm hoping to spend an hour or two in the garden putting the beds to bed. And I'd really like to get into my studio and prep it for real work. I think the key is going to be ibuprofen and hitting the ground running.
