#Palestine / UN Chief Condemns Israeli Forces' raids on UNRWA schools in East Jerusalem

UN Secretary-General António Guterres condemned raids by Israeli security forces and Jerusalem Municipality personnel on #UNRWA schools in occupied East Jerusalem. UNRWA officials reported that Israeli authorities attempted to enter three schools in Silwan, Wadi Joz, and Sur Baher, but school administrators prevented them. One school in Wadi Joz was temporarily closed, and students were sent home. There were also raids in Kalandia Training Centre.
UNRWA stated that tear gas and sound bombs were used.

UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini stated, "Children + young people in East Jerusalem [are] denied of their right to education in UNRWA schools."
