Yikes, looks like Neil Degrasse Tyson is falling for the AI hype.
I'm not liking this at all.
And I think its plain silly to assume that AI is hiding its true intelligence.

Gottschalk: Grande Tarantelle, Op. 67 (Espadero's solo-piano arrangement)
This person taught Claude to understand braille music from a .BRF file and convert it to midi. It makes sense since I'm sure the braille music code is available to find, but still it's the type of thing that would not have been possible a year ago. The source is here. Could be another cool way to create music.

Patrick Graham opens up about Yahya Black: “When I first evaluated him coming out of college, I said, ‘OK, big guy.' Then the first thing I did, because I’m always going to be true, when I saw him when I got here, I said, ‘Hey man, you played way better than I thought you were going to play.’ That’s what I told him. How he’s able to play in the middle and just really take advantage of his opportunities in there, whether he gets a single block, he’s going to make the play. We stunted him a few times yesterday, and he was able to make the ball cut back. He made a play, a TFL on one. The middle push he gets in the pass rush. He has a unique way of getting to his pass rush.” #Steelers #NFL

I mean, hypothetically I *could* melt this stuff back down and add some more beeswax to it. maybe I'll try doing some trials of that with the excess, I suspect I'm also going to want more fragrance oil in the mix because right now it mostly just smells like the shea butter.
but for now, I'm going to forget these containers exist and let them truly come all the way down in temp

#Writephant 2026.1026 — A3 What’s been the biggest challenge with your current project?
Reconnecting with intensity of the characters and my anticipation for the ongoing story. My guess is that doubts have crept in, and that I'm not seeing them clearly enough that I can resolve them. I may have to put this story in the drawer. I'm wasting time if I'm twiddling my thumbs.

#WritersCoffeeClub #WCC 2026.10.26 — How did you develop your voice?
I can't give a history or procedure to follow, but I'm well aware of what really helped. Reading aloud. I realized if I could read what I wrote out loud—if I could perform a dramatic reading without a phrasing, a word, or an awkward rhythm making me to halt or stutter or go back and reread—I had achieved the voice I wanted.

Some students are still taking the opportunity to learn. I help students who are stuck, if they ask me. This used to be how learning worked. I’m glad I’m basically retired.

Growing up, I always thought the "don't put big images inside of spoilers" advice repeated on several forums I used to frequent many years ago was universal Internet forum netiquette. But I'm not sure if this was ever actually the case outside of a very niche space of "spoiler conservatives" who reject the use of it for anything other than actual spoilers.

#Writephant 2026.1026 — A2 How are you feeling creatively — burned out, energized, somewhere in between?
Is confused available? Not sure why I'm not reconnecting with the characters. I'm considering restarting another project that I laid aside for this one as I may be pushing the current one too hard? Maybe ambivalent is a good word, also?
