Timing is so critical in animation.
And visual storytelling in general, I guess.
I've decided I want to let the length of the episode grow slightly, but how best to use the extra time..? Without tripping up the pacing..?
🤔
I did feel that the mission control room was being underused a bit. So I'm giving it 20 or 30 more seconds in this edit, with a couple of moving camera shots to take in a bit more. Of course, that will also require retiming the audio again. #LunaticsProject #Animation #Directing #Timing -

Well kids, Arch just doesn't have the shine it did several years. Not sure why - but it just doesn't seem worth the pain these days - of course we're getting older here 😅 Back to good ol' @fedora we go !!! #fedora #linux #Fedora37 #fedoraworkstation There's just something perfect about this distro.

I've been on a bit of an unplanned creative hiatus, due to catching CoViD on August 1st. It hit me like a ton of bricks, with a bad fever and congestion. I've been very gradually recovering since then. At present, I don't feel much except fatigue and brain fog, but those symptoms are very real.
Nevertheless, I did finish up timelapses and summaries for June and July.
The June timelapse was kind of short, owing to quite a bit of non-production work, including some emergency fixes to my web servers.
https://tv.filmfreedom.net/w/pdDp19x6f6By47AGGjyQMd
Includes final compositing for "Suiting Up" and re-linking and re-blocking for the "Launch / Mission Control" shots (major changes to set and extras characters, which had to be updated in the shot files, and I re-thought some of the shots, resulting in some more re-timing).

This story makes me nervous just reading it. Who doesn't love interacting with their health insurance provider?
Local money machine United Healthcare in the news.
"The health insurance giant launched its Minnetonka center to prevent, identify and solve problems just over two years ago. It’s part of the legacy of Brian Thompson, the company executive killed on a public sidewalk in New York City.
"The ultimate goal is an ambition some would consider impossible for a health insurer: becoming a beloved brand."

#FinishedReading my first of a subscription to #AsimovsScienceFiction magazine. With its wonky printing (page margins randomly shifting, print changing darkness across each page) it feels a bit like samizdat; I don't mind that, but surely they could have done better with the cover (credited only to image corporation Shutterstock). More importantly the stories were solid and entertaining, although not top tier. My favourites were 'The Hidden God' by #TRNapper and 'On the Night Shift' by #ZoharJacobs , one a satirical thriller of AI attaining sentience and declaring class war, the other a fairly realistic story of mission control for a Mars landing trying to work through a climate change induced superstorm on Earth. #NancyKress , one of my favourite short story writers, has part 1 of a 2 part story so I'm intrigued to see where that goes next issue! @scifi

Cities winning the race to outer space 2025 REWRITE
Throughout history, ease of trade, commerce, and connectivity has played vital roles in determining which cities prosper and thrive. Seaports, canals, railroads, and highways have all determined urban winners and losers. Today, the airport is the principle success determiner. Cities ranging from Dallas-Fort Worth, to Orlando, to Denver to Hong Kong, to Amsterdam, to Memphis, to Detroit, to Beijing, and to Anchorage have benefitted from establishing and maintaining cutting-edge aviation infrastructure. This applies to passenger, overnight, air freight, or seaplane facilities.
Spaceport America, New Mexico – Source: in.pinterest.comThis begs the question of what next? What mode of transportation will be the next conduit to increased trade, economic growth, and regional prosperity? In this planner’s opinion, those cities that become nodes of space travel and/or infrastructure will move ahead of the crowd by the middle of the 21st century. Because of previous investments, there are a number of cities that are well ahead of the pack. That fact, combined with limitations on the number of spaceports that the market can realistically support, will give the cities listed below a leg up on the competition and make them odd’s on favorites. Nevertheless, other cities around the globe may be able to ingenuously latch on to this futuristic growth engine.
Headquarters Space Operations Command in Colorado Springs, Colorado – Source: space ews.comBelow is an updated list of those cities/metro regions in the United States (in alphabetical order) that are either already at the forefront of the urban space race or may become a potential contender, along with the reason(s) why. Not all have to be launch facilities, as research, control and tracking centers are also important. Those listed in bold are currently believed to be the leading metros in this space race. Other cities around the globe are listed separately.
Source: dailymail.co.ukPlease feel free to suggest others that may have been missed in this update. Those sites (existing and proposed) which are in very remote locations were not included on the list. Weblinks to sources are provided at the end of the post.
Peace!
